But the statement it was credited to him ¹  was not written only for Abraham’s ²  sake,

This saying ¹  is trustworthy: ²  If we died with him, we will also live with him.

The crowd ¹  was listening to him until he said this. ²  Then ³  they raised their voices and shouted, ⁴  “Away with this man ⁵  from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live!” ⁶ 

¹ “You must not give ²  a false report. ³  Do not make common cause ⁴  with the wicked ⁵  to be a malicious ⁶  witness.

when an individual becomes guilty with regard to one of these things ¹  he must confess how he has sinned, ² 

A proclamation ¹  was circulated ²  throughout Judah and Jerusalem ³  that all the exiles were to be assembled in Jerusalem.

“It was said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a legal document.’ ¹ 

Let your word be ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no.’ More than this is from the evil one. ¹ 

Then the disciples came to him and said, “Do you know that when the Pharisees ¹  heard this saying they were offended?”

They said to him, “Why then did Moses command us to give a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her?” ¹ 

But when the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he was very rich. ¹ 

Above ¹  his head they put the charge against him, ²  which read: ³  “This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

Now ¹  when Jesus ²  had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about the parable.

Then ¹  he said to her, “Because you said this, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.”

They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her.” ¹ 

But at this statement, the man ¹  looked sad and went away sorrowful, for he was very rich. ² 

Then ¹  they sent some of the Pharisees ²  and Herodians ³  to trap him with his own words. ⁴ 

But ¹  she was greatly troubled ²  by his words and began to wonder about the meaning of this greeting. ³ 

When ¹  they saw him, ²  they related what they had been told ³  about this child,

He said this ¹  to fulfill the word he had spoken, ²  “I have not lost a single one of those whom you gave me.” ³
