and then the border will turn from the south to the Scorpion Ascent, ¹  continue to Zin, and then its direction ²  will be from the south to Kadesh Barnea. Then it will go to Hazar Addar and pass over to Azmon.

extended ¹  south of the Scorpion Ascent, ²  crossed to Zin, went up from the south to Kadesh Barnea, crossed to Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned toward Karka.

As they were going up the ascent to the town, they met some girls coming out to draw water. They said to them, “Is this where the seer is?”

My heart cries out because of Moab’s plight, ¹  and for the fugitives ²  stretched out ³  as far as Zoar and Eglath Shelishiyah. For they weep as they make their way up the ascent of Luhith; they loudly lament their demise on the road to Horonaim. ⁴
