Jonathan got up from the table enraged. He did not eat any food on that second day of the new moon, for he was upset that his father had humiliated David. ¹

The king shows favor ¹  to a wise ²  servant, but his wrath falls ³  on one who acts shamefully.

A servant who acts wisely ¹  will rule over ²  an heir ³  who behaves shamefully, ⁴  and will share the inheritance along with the relatives. ⁵ 

The one who robs ¹  his father ²  and chases away his mother is a son ³  who brings shame and disgrace.

The more the priests increased in numbers, the more they rebelled against me. They have turned ¹  their glorious calling into a shameful disgrace!

But now, put off all such things ¹  as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

Therefore God gave them over ¹  in the desires of their hearts to impurity, to dishonor ²  their bodies among themselves. ³ 

And you are proud! ¹  Shouldn’t you have been deeply sorrowful instead and removed the one who did this ²  from among you?

Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, they exult in their shame, and they think about earthly things. ¹ 

who must be silenced because they mislead whole families by teaching for dishonest gain what ought not to be taught.

wild sea waves, ¹  spewing out the foam of ²  their shame; ³  wayward stars ⁴  for whom the utter depths of eternal darkness ⁵  have been reserved.
