When all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds ¹  would roll the stone off the mouth of the well and water the sheep. Then they would put the stone back in its place over the well’s mouth.

I have sewed sackcloth on my skin, ¹  and buried ²  my horn ³  in the dust;

They come in as through a wide breach; amid the crash ¹  they come rolling in. ² 

Joseph ¹  took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, ² 

Joshua said, “Roll large stones over the mouth of the cave and post guards in front of it. ¹ 

The clouds poured down rain; ¹  the skies thundered. ²  Yes, your arrows ³  flashed about.

They had been asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”

The Pharisees ¹  (who loved money) heard all this and ridiculed ²  him.

One deep stream calls out to another ¹  at the sound of your waterfalls; ²  all your billows and waves overwhelm me. ³ 

A psalm. Sing to the Lord a new song, ²  for he performs ³  amazing deeds! His right hand and his mighty arm accomplish deliverance. ⁴ 

The one who digs a pit ¹  will fall into it; the one who rolls a stone – it will come back on him.

There were two copies of the deed of purchase. One was sealed and contained the order of transfer and the conditions of purchase. ¹  The other was left unsealed.

The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, and it collapsed; it was utterly destroyed!” ¹ 

Then ¹  he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, ²  and placed it ³  in a tomb cut out of the rock, ⁴  where no one had yet been buried. ⁵ 

Immediately the man was healed, ¹  and he picked up his mat ²  and started walking. (Now that day was a Sabbath.) ³ 

Jesus, intensely moved ¹  again, came to the tomb. (Now it was a cave, and a stone was placed across it.) ² 

So they took away ¹  the stone. Jesus looked upward ²  and said, “Father, I thank you that you have listened to me. ³ 

and like a robe you will fold them up and like a garment ¹  they will be changed, but you are the same and your years will never run out.” ² 

Joshua wrote these words in the Law Scroll of God. He then took a large stone and set it up there under the oak tree near the Lord’s shrine.

Now it was reported to Saul, “Look, the army is sinning against the Lord by eating even the blood.” He said, “All of you have broken the covenant! ¹  Roll a large stone over here to me.”
