That day ¹  – let it be darkness; ²  let not God on high regard ³  it, nor let light shine ⁴  on it!

But if we say, ‘From people,’ we fear the crowd, for they all consider John to be a prophet.”

One ¹  should think about us this way – as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

¹ who though he existed in the form of God ²  did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped,

But Abel brought ¹  some of the firstborn of his flock – even the fattest ²  of them. And the Lord was pleased with ³  Abel and his offering,

but with Cain and his offering he was not pleased. ¹  So Cain became very angry, ²  and his expression was downcast. ³ 

The priests left the holy place. ¹  All the priests who participated had consecrated themselves, no matter which division they represented. ² 

פ (Pe) The Lord himself ¹  has scattered them; he no longer watches over them. They did not honor the priests; ²  they did not show favor to the elders. ³ 

Therefore do not let anyone judge you with respect to food or drink, or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or Sabbath days –

I am blameless. ¹  I do not know myself. ²  I despise my life.

Why do you hide your face ¹  and regard me as your enemy?

May he take notice ¹  of your offerings; may he accept ²  your burnt sacrifice! (Selah)

Obey the king’s command, ¹  because you took ²  an oath before God ³  to be loyal to him. ⁴ 

Therefore if you regard me as a partner, accept him as you would me.

He said to his father and mother, “I have not seen him,” ¹  and he did not acknowledge his own brothers or know his own children, for they kept your word, and guarded your covenant.

Elisha said, “As certainly as the Lord who rules over all ¹  lives (whom I serve), ²  if I did not respect King Jehoshaphat of Judah, ³  I would not pay attention to you or acknowledge you. ⁴ 

“I, the Lord, the God of Israel, say: ‘The exiles whom I sent away from here to the land of Babylon ¹  are like those good figs. I consider them to be good.

Make the work harder ¹  for the men so they will keep at it ²  and pay no attention to lying words!” ³ 

but those ¹  who did not take ²  the word of the Lord seriously left their servants and their cattle ³  in the field.

Don’t consider your servant a wicked woman, ¹  for until now I have spoken from my deep pain and anguish.”
