So Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

The ram that you saw with the two horns stands for the kings of Media and Persia.

“You are to take one ram, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on the ram’s head,

ram skins dyed red, ¹  fine leather, ²  acacia ³  wood,

and you are to kill the ram and take its blood and splash it all around on the altar.

The Lord ¹  said to him, “Take for me a heifer, a goat, and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.”

Then you are to cut the ram into pieces and wash the entrails and its legs and put them on its pieces and on its head

Then he must bring his guilt offering to the Lord, a flawless ram from the flock, convertible into silver shekels, ¹  for a guilt offering to the priest.

So Balak did just as Balaam had said. Balak and Balaam then offered on each ¹  altar a bull and a ram.

Then God met Balaam, who ¹  said to him, “I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered on each altar a bull and a ram.”

But you must offer as the burnt offering, as a sweet aroma to the Lord, two young bulls, one ram, seven lambs one year old,

with their grain offering of finely ground flour mixed with olive oil: three-tenths of an ephah for each bull, two-tenths for the one ram,
