The north wind ¹  brings forth rain, and a gossiping tongue ²  brings forth ³  an angry look. ⁴ 

If, for example, the trumpet makes an unclear sound, who will get ready for battle?

for the fruit of the light ¹  consists in ²  all goodness, righteousness, and truth –

Now all discipline seems painful at the time, not joyful. ¹  But later it produces the fruit of peace and righteousness ²  for those trained by it.

You must be certain to tithe ¹  all the produce of your seed that comes from the field year after year.

Wine ¹  is a mocker ²  and strong drink is a brawler; whoever goes astray by them is not wise. ³ 

Like cloudy skies and wind that produce no rain, ¹  so is the one who boasts ²  of a gift not given. ³ 

A rod and reproof ¹  impart ²  wisdom, but a child who is unrestrained ³  brings shame ⁴  to his mother. ⁵ 

And there are different results, but the same God who produces all of them in everyone.

It is one and the same Spirit, distributing as he decides to each person, who produces all these things.

Moreover, I have called for a drought that will affect the fields, the hill country, the grain, new wine, fresh olive oil, and everything that grows from the ground; it also will harm people, animals, and everything they produce.’” ¹ 

your cattle, and the wild animals that are in your land – all its produce will be for you ¹  to eat.

Because that year is a jubilee, it will be holy to you – you may eat its produce ¹  from the field.

He provides grass ¹  for the cattle, and crops for people to cultivate, ²  so they can produce food from the ground, ³ 

For all day long ¹  his work produces pain and frustration, ²  and even at night his mind cannot relax! ³  This also is futile!

“I will rise up against them,” says the Lord who commands armies. “I will blot out all remembrance of Babylon and destroy all her people, ¹  including the offspring she produces,” ²  says the Lord.

I planted you in the land like a special vine of the very best stock. Why in the world have you turned into something like a wild vine that produces rotten, foul-smelling grapes? ¹ 

For this reason I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people ¹  who will produce its fruit.

for each tree is known ¹  by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered ²  from thorns, nor are grapes picked ³  from brambles. ⁴ 

And I know that his commandment is eternal life. ¹  Thus the things I say, I say just as the Father has told me.” ²
