and ¹  he contends with God on behalf of man as a man ²  pleads ³  for his friend.

If my heart has been enticed by a woman, and I have lain in wait at my neighbor’s door, ¹ 

So it is with ¹  the one who has sex with ²  his neighbor’s wife; no one ³  who touches ⁴  her will escape ⁵  punishment. ⁶ 

Don’t set foot too frequently ¹  in your neighbor’s house, lest he become weary ²  of you and hate you.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ ¹  and ‘hate your enemy.’

The second is: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ¹  There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up.

For the whole law can be summed up in a single commandment, ¹  namely, “You must love your neighbor as yourself.” ² 

If you make a sale ¹  to your fellow citizen ²  or buy ³  from your fellow citizen, no one is to wrong his brother. ⁴ 

The appetite ¹  of the wicked desires ²  evil; his neighbor is shown no favor ³  in his eyes.

“If a man gives his neighbor money or articles ¹  for safekeeping, ²  and it is stolen from the man’s house, if the thief is caught, ³  he must repay double.

You must not have sexual intercourse ¹  with the wife of your fellow citizen to become unclean with her.

My child, ²  if you have made a pledge ³  for your neighbor, and ⁴  have become a guarantor ⁵  for a stranger, ⁶ 

The one who despises his neighbor sins, but whoever is kind to the needy is blessed.

The one who lacks wisdom ¹  strikes hands in pledge, ²  and puts up financial security ³  for his neighbor. ⁴ 

so is a person ¹  who deceives his neighbor, and says, “Was I not only joking?” ² 

Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

You must not go about as a slanderer among your people. ¹  You must not stand idly by when your neighbor’s life is at stake. ²  I am the Lord.

You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge ¹  against the children of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself. ²  I am the Lord.

When you enter the vineyard of your neighbor you may eat as many grapes as you please, ¹  but you must not take away any in a container. ²
