So Saul arose and went down to the desert of Ziph, accompanied by three thousand select men of Israel, to look for David in the desert of Ziph.

Now don’t let my blood fall to the ground away from the Lord’s presence, for the king of Israel has gone out to look for a flea the way one looks for a partridge ¹  in the hill country.”

Now Jacob cooked some stew, ¹  and when Esau came in from the open fields, he was famished.

When Saul learned that David had fled to Gath, he did not mount a new search for him.

You determine my destiny! ¹  Rescue me from the power of my enemies and those who chase me.

May all those who seek you be happy and rejoice in you! May those who love to experience ¹  your deliverance say continually, ²  “May God ³  be praised!” ⁴
