For what hope does the godless have when he is cut off, ¹  when God takes away his life? ² 

But now, O Lord, upon what am I relying? You are my only hope! ¹ 

How blessed is the one whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

When a wicked person dies, his expectation perishes, ¹  and the hope of his strength ²  perishes. ³ 

Indeed, there is hope for your posterity. ¹  Your children will return to their own territory. I, the Lord, affirm it! ² 

From Paul, ¹  an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior ²  and of Christ Jesus our hope,

I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these instructions ¹  to you

a promise ¹  that our twelve tribes hope to attain as they earnestly serve God ²  night and day. Concerning this hope the Jews are accusing me, ³  Your Majesty! ⁴ 

Is not your piety ¹  your confidence, ²  and your blameless ways your hope? ³ 

My days ¹  are swifter ²  than a weaver’s shuttle ³  and they come to an end without hope. ⁴ 

Such is the destiny ¹  of all who forget God; the hope of the godless ²  perishes,

כ (Kaf) I desperately long for ¹  your deliverance. I find hope in your word.

O Israel, hope in the Lord, for the Lord exhibits loyal love, ¹  and is more than willing to deliver. ² 

Hope ¹  deferred ²  makes the heart sick, ³  but a longing fulfilled ⁴  is like ⁵  a tree of life.

Discipline your child, for ¹  there is hope, but do not set your heart ²  on causing his death. ³ 

Do you see ¹  a man wise in his own eyes? ²  There is more hope for a fool ³  than for him.

Do you see someone ¹  who is hasty in his words? ²  There is more hope for a fool than for him. ³ 

Be strong and confident, ¹  all you who wait on the Lord!

As for me, I will wait continually, and will continue to praise you. ¹ 

I am up before dawn crying for help. I find hope in your word.
