Then the man said, “This one at last ¹  is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one will be called ²  ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of ³  man.” ⁴ 

all flesh would perish together and human beings would return to dust.

My body ¹  trembles ²  because I fear you; ³  I am afraid of your judgments.

The fool folds his hands and does no work, ¹  so he has nothing to eat but his own flesh. ² 

concerning his Son who was a descendant ¹  of David with reference to the flesh, ² 

Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh – who are called “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body ¹  by human hands –

All Israel joined David at Hebron and said, “Look, we are your very flesh and blood! ¹ 

And after my skin has been destroyed, ¹  yet in my flesh ²  I will see God, ³ 

I will put your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your maggot-infested carcass. ¹ 

But ¹  you must not eat meat ²  with its life (that is, ³  its blood) in it. ⁴ 

but the remainder of the meat and the bread ¹  you must burn with fire.

Then a breath of air ¹  passes ²  by my face; it makes ³  the hair of my flesh stand up.

For, when I think ¹  about this, I am terrified ²  and my body feels a shudder. ³ 

For I am overcome with shame ¹  and my whole body is sick. ² 

to the one who gives food to all living things, ¹  for his loyal love endures.

What then shall we say that Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh, ¹  has discovered regarding this matter? ² 

If, however, ¹  the raw flesh once again turns white, ²  then he must come to the priest.

His flesh wastes away from sight, and his bones, which were not seen, are easily visible. ¹ 

then his flesh is restored ¹  like a youth’s; he returns to the days of his youthful vigor. ²
