and throw ¹  your gold ²  in the dust – your gold ³  of Ophir among the rocks in the ravines –

I grind them as fine windblown dust; ¹  I beat them underfoot ²  like clay ³  in the streets.

Indeed, ¹  your servants take delight in her stones, and feel compassion for ²  the dust of her ruins. ³ 

And I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone is able to count the dust of the earth, then your descendants also can be counted. ¹ 

By the sweat of your brow ¹  you will eat food until you return to the ground, ²  for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you will return.” ³ 

Will ¹  it ²  go down to the barred gates ³  of death? Will ⁴  we descend ⁵  together into the dust?”

His bones ¹  were full of his youthful vigor, ²  but that vigor will lie down with him in the dust.

He rained down meat on them like dust, birds as numerous as the sand on the seashores. ¹

The Lord will make the rain of your land powder and dust; it will come down on you from the sky until you are destroyed.

I grind them as fine as the dust of the ground; I crush them and stomp on them like clay ¹  in the streets.

They will lament loudly ¹  over you and cry bitterly. They will throw dust on their heads and roll in the ashes; ² 

He raises the poor from the dirt, and lifts up the needy from the garbage pile, ¹ 

before he made the earth and its fields, ¹  or the beginning ²  of the dust of the world.

For she leaves ¹  her eggs on the ground, and lets them be warmed on the soil.

Then Abraham asked, “Since I have undertaken to speak to the Lord ¹  (although I am but dust and ashes), ² 

how much more to those who live in houses of clay, ¹  whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed ²  like ³  a moth?

may an enemy relentlessly chase ¹  me ²  and catch me; ³  may he trample me to death ⁴  and leave me lying dishonored in the dust. ⁵  (Selah)
