The disciples began to look at one another, worried and perplexed ¹  to know which of them he was talking about.

“I have told you all these things so that you will not fall away. ¹ 

Now they understand ¹  that everything ²  you have given me comes from you,

for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising ¹  God. Then Peter said,

What then should we do? They will no doubt ¹  hear that you have come.

And I was with you in weakness and in fear and with much trembling.

For you are certainly giving thanks well, but the other person is not strengthened.

And I hope that you will realize that we have not failed the test! ¹ 

“And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, ¹  and on the earth nations will be in distress, ²  anxious ³  over the roaring of the sea and the surging waves.

Then he said to Thomas, “Put ¹  your finger here, and examine ²  my hands. Extend ³  your hand and put it ⁴  into my side. Do not continue in your unbelief, but believe.” ⁵ 

Or is he not surely speaking for our benefit? It was written for us, because the one plowing and threshing ought to work in hope of enjoying the harvest.

You know, for you were born before them; ¹  and the number of your days is great!

A psalm by Asaph. Certainly God is good to Israel, ²  and to those whose motives are pure! ³ 

She knows ¹  that her merchandise is good, and her lamp ²  does not go out in the night.

Immediately the father of the boy cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

But if I cast out demons by the finger ¹  of God, then the kingdom of God ²  has already overtaken ³  you.

Now when the centurion ¹  saw what had happened, he praised God and said, “Certainly this man was innocent!” ² 

While ¹  they were perplexed ²  about this, suddenly ³  two men stood beside them in dazzling ⁴  attire.

When they heard these words, some of the crowd ¹  began to say, “This really ²  is the Prophet!” ³ 

But get up, ¹  go down, and accompany them without hesitation, ²  because I have sent them.”
