Your strength will be used up in vain, your land will not give its yield, and the trees of the land ¹  will not produce their fruit.

You saturate ¹  its furrows, and soak ²  its plowed ground. ³  With rain showers you soften its soil, ⁴  and make its crops grow. ⁵ 

Be distressed, ¹  farmers; wail, vinedressers, over the wheat and the barley. For the harvest of the field has perished.

You will still be eating stored produce from the previous year ¹  and will have to clean out what is stored from the previous year to make room for new. ² 

You must be certain to tithe ¹  all the produce of your seed that comes from the field year after year.

Yes, the Lord will bestow his good blessings, ¹  and our land will yield ²  its crops.

They ate all the vegetation in their land, and devoured the crops of their fields. ¹ 

A poor person ¹  who oppresses the weak is like ²  a driving rain without food. ³ 

This is why the sky ¹  has held back its dew and the earth its produce. ² 

The manna stopped appearing the day they ate ¹  some of the produce of the land; the Israelites never ate manna again. ² 

I will prepare for them a healthy ¹  planting. They will no longer be victims ²  of famine in the land and will no longer bear the insults of the nations.

Then I will stop the plague ¹  from ruining your crops, ²  and the vine will not lose its fruit before harvest,” says the Lord who rules over all.

yet he did not leave himself without a witness by doing good, ¹  by giving you rain from heaven ²  and fruitful seasons, satisfying you ³  with food and your hearts with joy.” ⁴ 

When you try to cultivate ¹  the ground it will no longer yield ²  its best ³  for you. You will be a homeless wanderer ⁴  on the earth.”

Six years you may sow your field, and six years you may prune your vineyard and gather the produce, ¹ 

Your children ¹  will be cursed, as well as the produce of your soil, the calves of your herds, and the lambs of your flocks.

We also accept responsibility for ¹  bringing the first fruits of our land and the first fruits of every fruit tree year by year to the temple of the LORD.

The one who gathers crops ¹  in the summer is a wise ²  son, but the one who sleeps ³  during the harvest is a son who brings shame to himself. ⁴ 

I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and multiply it; I will not bring a famine on you.

I will multiply the fruit of the trees and the produce of the fields, so that you will never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations.
