one who casts spells, ¹  one who conjures up spirits, ²  a practitioner of the occult, ³  or a necromancer. ⁴ 

that does not respond to ¹  the magicians, or to a skilled snake-charmer.

He threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus.

Jesus ¹  looked up ²  and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box. ³ 

He also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. ¹ 

He followed in the footsteps of ¹  the kings of Israel; he also made images of the Baals.

For now ¹  you have become like these streams that are no help; ²  you see a terror, ³  and are afraid.

So if ¹  Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God ¹  has already overtaken ²  you.

Then ¹  he ²  sat down opposite the offering box, ³  and watched the crowd putting coins into it. Many rich people were throwing in large amounts.

For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

When I looked, you had indeed sinned against the Lord your God and had cast for yourselves a metal calf; ¹  you had quickly turned aside from the way he ²  had commanded you!
