The Beloved to Her Lover: Set me like a cylinder seal ¹  over your heart, ²  like a signet ³  on your arm. ⁴  For love is as strong as death, ⁵  passion ⁶  is as unrelenting ⁷  as Sheol. Its flames burst forth, ⁸  it is a blazing flame. ⁹ 

When Israel joined themselves to Baal-peor, ¹  the anger of the Lord flared up against Israel.

Indeed, ¹  you are my lamp, Lord. ²  My God ³  illuminates the darkness around me. ⁴ 

the grave, ¹  the barren womb, ²  land that is not satisfied with water, and fire that never says, “Enough!” ³ 

“I have come ¹  to bring ²  fire on the earth – and how I wish it were already kindled!

but, like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your conduct,

His ¹  head and hair were as white as wool, even as white as snow, ²  and his eyes were like a fiery ³  flame.

On that day ¹  I will make the leaders of Judah like an igniter ²  among sticks and a burning torch among sheaves, and they will burn up all the surrounding nations right and left. Then the people of Jerusalem will settle once more in their place, the city of Jerusalem.

When the sun had gone down and it was dark, a smoking firepot with a flaming torch ¹  passed between the animal parts. ² 

Now look, you are standing in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinners, to increase still further the fierce wrath of the Lord against the Israelites.

May the Lord rain down ¹  burning coals ²  and brimstone ³  on the wicked! A whirlwind is what they deserve! ⁴ 

His glorious name deserves praise ¹  forevermore! May his majestic splendor ²  fill the whole earth! We agree! We agree! ³ 

For this reason ¹  the sovereign master, the Lord who commands armies, will make his healthy ones emaciated. ²  His majestic glory will go up in smoke. ³ 

Edom’s ¹  streams will be turned into pitch and her soil into brimstone; her land will become burning pitch.

All of them are blazing like an oven; they devour their rulers. All of their kings fall – and none of them call on me!

“When ¹  the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

He was a lamp that was burning and shining, ¹  and you wanted to rejoice greatly for a short time ²  in his light.

So Judas obtained a squad of soldiers ¹  and some officers of the chief priests and Pharisees. ²  They came to the orchard ³  with lanterns ⁴  and torches and weapons.

about noon along the road, Your Majesty, ¹  I saw a light from heaven, ²  brighter than the sun, shining everywhere around ³  me and those traveling with me.

and to you who are being afflicted to give rest together with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed ¹  from heaven with his mighty angels. ²
