The Philistines stayed right on the heels ¹  of Saul and his sons. They ²  struck down Saul’s sons Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malki-Shua.

Samuel revealed the word of the Lord ¹  to all Israel.Then the Israelites went out to fight the Philistines. ²  They camped at Ebenezer, ³  and the Philistines camped at Aphek.

For the time has come to destroy all the Philistines. The time has come to destroy all the help that remains for Tyre ¹  and Sidon. ²  For I, the Lord, will ³  destroy the Philistines, that remnant that came from the island of Crete. ⁴ 

As Samuel was offering burnt offerings, the Philistines approached to do battle with Israel. ¹  But on that day the Lord thundered loudly against the Philistines. He caused them to panic, and they were defeated by ²  Israel.

So the Philistines were defeated; they did not invade Israel again. The hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

He had ¹  so many sheep ²  and cattle ³  and such a great household of servants that the Philistines became jealous ⁴  of him.

This is the land that remains: all the territory of the Philistines and all the Geshurites,

Now the Philistines had captured the ark of God and brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod.

On that day the army struck down the Philistines from Micmash to Aijalon, and they became very tired.

When the Israelites returned from their hot pursuit of the Philistines, they looted their camp.

They told David, “The Philistines are fighting in Keilah and are looting the threshing floors.”

But a messenger came to Saul saying, “Come quickly, for the Philistines have raided the land!”

When the residents of Jabesh Gilead heard what the Philistines had done to Saul,

He defeated the Philistines as far as Gaza and its territory, from the watchtower to the city fortress. ¹ 

When all the residents of Jabesh Gilead heard about everything the Philistines had done to Saul,

The Lord stirred up against Jehoram the Philistines ¹  and the Arabs who lived beside the Cushites.

God helped him in his campaigns ¹  against the Philistines, the Arabs living in Gur Baal, and the Meunites.

The Lord spoke to the prophet Jeremiah ¹  about the Philistines before Pharaoh attacked Gaza. ² 

The Lord will hand you and Israel over to the Philistines! ¹  Tomorrow both you and your sons will be with me. ²  The Lord will also hand the army ³  of Israel over to the Philistines!”

He was with David in Pas Dammim ¹  when the Philistines assembled there for battle. In an area of the field that was full of barley, the army retreated before the Philistines,
