“Tell us, when will these things ¹  happen? And what will be the sign that all these things are about to take place?”

So ¹  the disciples left, went ²  into the city, and found things just as he had told them, ³  and they prepared the Passover.

Going a little farther, he threw himself to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour would pass from him.

And you, child, ¹  will be called the prophet ²  of the Most High. ³  For you will go before ⁴  the Lord to prepare his ways, ⁵ 

“Woe to you ¹  when all people ²  speak well of you, for their ancestors ³  did the same things to the false prophets.

(Now about five thousand men ¹  were there.) ²  Then ³  he said to his disciples, “Have ⁴  them sit down in groups of about fifty each.”

Now ¹  when he approached Bethphage ²  and Bethany, at the place called the Mount of Olives, ³  he sent two of the disciples,

For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build ¹  an embankment ²  against you and surround you and close in on you from every side.

So ¹  they asked him, ²  “Teacher, when will these things ³  happen? And what will be the sign that ⁴  these things are about to take place?”

You go up ¹  to the feast yourselves. I am not going up to this feast ²  because my time ³  has not yet fully arrived.” ⁴ 

So they took away ¹  the stone. Jesus looked upward ²  and said, “Father, I thank you that you have listened to me. ³ 

“Now my soul is greatly distressed. And what should I say? ‘Father, deliver me ¹  from this hour’? ²  No, but for this very reason I have come to this hour. ³ 

I am telling you this now, ¹  before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe ²  that I am he. ³ 

So after sending ¹  two of his assistants, ²  Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, ³  he himself stayed on for a while in the province of Asia. ⁴ 

But I found that he had done nothing that deserved death, ¹  and when he appealed ²  to His Majesty the Emperor, ³  I decided to send him. ⁴ 

So Agrippa ¹  said to Paul, “You have permission ²  to speak for yourself.” Then Paul held out his hand ³  and began his defense: ⁴ 

Therefore I urge you to take some food, for this is important ¹  for your survival. ²  For not one of you will lose a hair from his head.”

Therefore God gave them over ¹  in the desires of their hearts to impurity, to dishonor ²  their bodies among themselves. ³ 

that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children.

Just ¹  as Isaiah predicted, “If the Lord of armies ²  had not left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, and we would have resembled Gomorrah.” ³
