As for me, this mystery was revealed to me not because I possess more wisdom ¹  than any other living person, but so that the king may understand ²  the interpretation and comprehend the thoughts of your mind. ³ 

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, ¹  and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. ² 

and how from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

They are a nation devoid of wisdom, and there is no understanding among them.

if ¹  you seek ²  it like silver, ³  and search for it ⁴  like hidden treasure,

to deliver ¹  you from the way of the wicked, ²  from those ³  speaking perversity, ⁴ 

Listen to advice ¹  and receive discipline, that ²  you may become wise ³  by the end of your life. ⁴ 

For he says: “By my strong hand I have accomplished this, by my strategy that I devised. I invaded the territory of nations, ¹  and looted their storehouses. Like a mighty conqueror, ²  I brought down rulers. ³ 

young men in whom there was no physical defect and who were handsome, ¹  well versed in all kinds of wisdom, well educated ²  and having keen insight, ³  and who were capable ⁴  of entering the king’s royal service ⁵  – and to teach them the literature and language ⁶  of the Babylonians. ⁷ 

So Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person ¹  in whom the Lord has put skill ²  and ability ³  to know how ⁴  to do all the work for the service ⁵  of the sanctuary are to do the work ⁶  according to all that the Lord has commanded.”

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel – and not with clever speech, so that the cross of Christ would not become useless. ¹ 

He spoke with me, instructing me as follows: ¹  “Daniel, I have now come to impart understanding to you.

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfishness in your hearts, do not boast and tell lies against the truth.

Moses summoned ¹  Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person in whom ²  the Lord had put skill – everyone whose heart stirred him ³  to volunteer ⁴  to do the work,

Jesus ¹  said, “Even after all this, are you still so foolish?

Will they not ¹  instruct you and ²  speak to you, and bring forth words ³  from their understanding? ⁴ 

He is wise in heart ¹  and mighty ²  in strength ³  – who has resisted ⁴  him and remained safe? ⁵ 

But an empty man will become wise, when a wild donkey’s colt is born a human being. ¹ 

Neither gold nor crystal ¹  can be compared with it, nor can a vase ²  of gold match its worth.

Indeed, God is mighty; and he does not despise people, ¹  he ²  is mighty, and firm ³  in his intent. ⁴
