A good person obtains favor from the Lord, but the Lord ¹  condemns a person with wicked schemes. ² 

The backslider ¹  will be paid back ²  from his own ways, but a good person will be rewarded ³  for his.

The Lord abhors ¹  the plans ²  of the wicked, ³  but pleasant words ⁴  are pure. ⁵ 

A bribe works like ¹  a charm ²  for the one who offers it; ³  in whatever he does ⁴  he succeeds. ⁵ 

The words of a wise person ¹  win him ²  favor, ³  but the words ⁴  of a fool are self-destructive. ⁵ 

Then those officials who had gone to the king ¹  came by collusion and found Daniel praying and asking for help before his God.

Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these!

He ¹  said to them, “Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.

So ¹  the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, ²  Mary, for you have found favor ³  with God!

He ¹  found favor ²  with ³  God and asked that he could ⁴  find a dwelling place ⁵  for the house ⁶  of Jacob.

For I long to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift ¹  to strengthen you,

But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were cut down in the wilderness.

But it is God who establishes ¹  us together with you in Christ and who anointed us, ² 

begging us with great earnestness for the blessing and fellowship of helping ¹  the saints.

For this finds God’s favor, ¹  if because of conscience toward God ²  someone endures hardships in suffering unjustly.

Moses said to the Lord, “See, you have been saying to me, ‘Bring this people up,’ ¹  but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. But you said, ‘I know you by name, ²  and also you have found favor in my sight.’

For how will it be known then that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not by your going with us, so that we will be distinguished, I and your people, from all the people who are on the face of the earth?” ¹ 

and said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, let my Lord ¹  go among us, for we ²  are a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

Then Shechem said to Dinah’s ¹  father and brothers, “Let me find favor in your sight, and whatever you require of me ²  I’ll give. ³ 

“I will grant this people favor with ¹  the Egyptians, so that when ²  you depart you will not leave empty-handed.
