  Living for Jesus—O what peace! Rivers of pleasure never cease. Trials may come, yet I’ll not fear. Living for Jesus, He is near. Refrain Help me to serve Thee more and more. • [Rom 14:8] We Are The Lord’s

  We are the Lord’s; His all sufficient merit, Sealed on the cross, to us this grace accords. We are the Lord’s and all things shall inherit; Whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. We are the Lord’s; then let us gladly tender Our souls to Him in deeds, not empty words. Let heart and tongue and life combine to render No doubtful witness that we are the Lord’s. We are the Lord’s; no darkness brooding o’er us Can make us tremble while this star affords A steady light along the path before us— Faith’s full assurance that we are the Lord’s. We are the Lord’s; no evil can befall us In the dread hour of life’s fast loosening cords; No pangs of death shall even then appall us. Death we shall vanquish, for we are the Lord’s.

• [Rom 14:12] The Old Account Was Settled

  There was a time on earth, when in the book of Heav’n An old account was standing for sins yet unforgiv’n; My name was at the top, and many things below, I went unto the Keeper, and settled long ago. Refrain Long ago (down on my knees), long ago (I settled it all), Yes, the old account was settled long ago (Hallelujah!); And the record’s clear today, for He washed my sins away, When the old account was settled long ago. The old account was large, and growing every day, For I was always sinning, and never tried to pay; But when I looked ahead, and saw such pain and woe, I said that I would settle, I settled long ago. • [Rom 14:18] It May Not Be Our Lot

  It may not be our lot to wield The sickle in the ripened field; Nor ours to hear, on summer eves, The reaper’s song among the sheaves. Yet where our duty’s task is wrought In unison with God’s great thought, The near and future blend in one, And whatsoe’er is willed, is done. And ours the grateful service whence Comes, day by day, the recompense; The hope, the trust, the purpose stayed, The fountain, and the noonday shade. And were this lift the utmost span, The only end and aim of man, Better the toil of fields like these Than waking dream and slotfhful ease. But life, though falling like our grain, Like that revives and springs again; And, early called, how blest are they Who wait in heaven, their harvest day!
