  Come, divine Interpreter, Bring me eyes Thy book to read, Ears the mystic words to hear, Words which did from Thee proceed, Words that endless bliss impart, Kept in an obedient heart. All who read, or hear, are blessed, If Thy plain commands we do; Of Thy kingdom here possessed, Thee we shall in glory view When Thou comest on earth to abide, Reign triumphant at Thy side.

• [Rev 1:5] Let Us Love And Sing And Wonder

  Let us love and sing and wonder, Let us praise the Savior’s Name! He has hushed the law’s loud thunder, He has quenched Mount Sinai’s flame. He has washed us with His blood, He has brought us nigh to God. Let us love the Lord Who bought us, Pitied us when enemies, Called us by His grace, and taught us, Gave us ears and gave us eyes: He has washed us with His blood, He presents our souls to God. Let us sing, though fierce temptation Threaten hard to bear us down! For the Lord, our strong Salvation, Holds in view the conqueror’s crown: He Who washed us with His blood Soon will bring us home to God. Let us wonder; grace and justice Join and point to mercy’s store; When through grace in Christ our trust is, Justice smiles and asks no more: He Who washed us with His blood Has secured our way to God. Let us praise, and join the chorus Of the saints enthroned on high; Here they trusted Him before us, Now their praises fill the sky: “Thou hast washed us with Your blood; Thou art worthy, Lamb of God!” Hark! the Name of Jesus, sounded Loud, from golden harps above! Lord, we blush, and are confounded, Faint our praises, cold our love! Wash our souls and songs with blood, For by Thee we come to God.

  Now to the Lord, that makes us know The wonders of His dying love, Be humble honors paid below, And strains of nobler praise above. ’Twas He that cleansed our foulest sins, And washed us in His richest blood; ’Tis He that makes us priests and kings, And brings us rebels near to God. To Jesus, our atoning Priest, To Jesus, our superior King, Be everlasting power confessed, And every tongue His glory sing. Behold, on flying clouds He comes, And every eye shall see Him move; Though with our sins we pierced Him once, Then He displays His pard’ning love.   Lo! He comes with clouds descending, Once for favored sinners slain; Thousand thousand saints attending, Swell the triumph of His train: Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! God appears on earth to reign. Now his Merits by the Harpers, Thro’ the eternal Deeps resounds! resplendent shine his Nail Prints, Ev’ry Eye shall see his Wounds! They who pierc’d Him, shall at his appearing wail. Ev’ry Island, Sea, and Mountain, Heav’n and Earth shall flee away! All who hate him must ashamed, Hear the Trump proclaim the Day: Come to Judgment! Stand before the Son of Man! All who love him view his Glory Shining in his bruised Face: His dear Person on the Rainbow, Now his Peoples Heads shall raise: Happy Mourners! Now on Clouds he comes! He comes! Now Redemption long expected, See, in solemn Pomp appear; All his People, once despised, Now shall meet him in the Air: Allelujah! Now the promis’d Kingdom’s come! View him smiling, now determin’d, Ev’ry Evil to destroy! All the nations now shall sing him, Songs of everlasting Joy! O come quickly! Allelujah! Come Lord, come!

  Alpha, Omega, beginning and end, Who is, who was, and who is yet to come— May grace and peace now upon us descend From Father, Spirit, and Christ the Son. Lord Jesus Christ, First and Last, faithful e’er, Once You were dead; now You live evermore. The keys to death and to hell You now bear. You rule the kings of earth by Your power. To Him Who loves us and shed His own blood— All of our sins in His body He bore, Made us a kingdom and priests serving God— To Him be glory, pow’r evermore! Look, He is coming! With clouds He’s adorned. All eyes will see Him when He comes again. Because of Him, all earth’s peoples will mourn. So shall it be! Amen and amen.

  Bring, O morn, thy music! Night, thy starlit silence! Oceans, laugh the rapture to the storm winds coursing free! Suns and planets chorus, Thou art our Creator, Who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be! Life and death, Thy creatures, praise Thee, mighty Giver! Praise and prayer are rising in Thy beast and bird and tree: Lo! they praise and vanish, vanish at Thy bidding, Who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be! Light us! lead us! love us! cry Thy groping nations, Pleading in the thousand tongues, but naming only Thee, Weaving blindly out Thy holy, happy purpose, Who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be!
