Psalms 73:23-26
-
[Psa 73:23] Hold Thou My Hand
Hold Thou my hand; so weak I am, and helpless,
I dare not take one step without Thy aid;
Hold Thou my hand; for then, O loving Savior,
No dread of ill shall make my soul afraid.Hold Thou my hand, and closer, closer draw me
To Thy dear self—my hope, my joy, my all;
Hold Thou my hand, lest haply I should wander,
And, missing Thee, my trembling feet should fall.Hold Thou my hand; the way is dark before me
Without the sunlight of Thy face divine;
But when by faith I catch its radiant glory,
What heights of joy, what rapturous songs are mine!Hold Thou my hand, that when I reach the margin
Of that lone river Thou didst cross for me,
A heavenly light may flash along its waters,
And every wave like crystal bright shall be.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:23] Hold Thou My Hands!
Hold Thou my hands!
In grief and joy, in hope and fear,
Lord, let me feel that Thou art near:
Hold Thou my hands!If e’er by doubts
Of Thy good fatherhood depressed,
I cannot find in Thee my rest:
Hold Thou my hands!Hold Thou my hands!
These passionate hands too quick to smite,
These hands so eager for delight:
Hold Thou my hands!And when at length,
With darkened eyes and fingers cold,
I seek some last loved hand to hold,
Hold Thou my hands!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:23] In Doubt And Temptation
In doubt and temptation I rest, Lord, in Thee;
My hand is in Thy hand, Thou carest for me;
My soul with Thy counsel through life Thou wilt guide,
And afterward make me in glory abide.Refrain
My God, I will extol Thee
And ever bless Thy Name;
Each day will I give thanks to Thee
And all Thy praise proclaim.In glory Thou only my portion shall be,
On earth for none other I long for but Thee;
My flesh and heart falter, but God is my stay,
The strength of my spirit, my portion for aye.Refrain
All they that forsake Thee must perish and die,
But near to my Savior most blessèd am I;
I make Thee my refuge, my Lord and my God;
Thy grace and Thy glory I publish abroad.Refrain

[Psa 73:23] O Take My Hand, Dear Father
O take my hand, dear Father, and lead Thou me,
Till at my journey’s ending I dwell with Thee.
Alone I cannot wander one single day,
So do Thou guide my footsteps on life’s rough way.O cover with Thy mercy my poor, weak heart,
Lest I in joy or sorrow from Thee depart.
Permit Thy child to linger here at Thy feet,
Thy goodness blindly trusting with faith complete.Though oft Thy power but faintly may stir my soul,
With Thee, my Light in darkness, I reach the goal.
Take then my hand, dear Father, and lead Thou me,
Till at my journey’s ending I dwell with Thee.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:23] Why Should Cross And Trial Grieve Me?
Why should cross and trial grieve me?
Christ is near with His cheer,
Never will He leave me.
Who can rob me of the Heaven
That God’s Son for my own
To my faith hath given?Though a heavy cross I’m bearing
And my heart feels the smart,
Shall I be despairing?
God, my Helper, who doth send it,
Well doth know all my woe
And how best to end it.Hopeful, cheerful, and undaunted
Everywhere they appear
Who in Christ are planted.
Death itself cannot appall them,
They rejoice when the voice
Of their Lord doth call them.Death cannot destroy forever;
From our fears, cares and tears
It will us deliver.
It will close life’s mournful story,
Make a way that we may
Enter heavenly glory.What is all this life possesses?
But a hand full of sand
That the heart distresses.
Noble gifts that pall me never
Christ, our Lord, will accord
To His saints forever.Lord, my Shepherd, take me to Thee.
Thou art mine; I was Thine
Even ere I knew Thee.
I am Thine, for Thou hast bought me;
Lost I stood, but Thy blood
Free salvation bought me.Thou art mine; I love and own Thee.
Light of Joy, ne’er shall I
From my heart dethrone Thee.
Savior, let me soon behold Thee
Face to face—may Thy grace
Evermore enfold me!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:24] Jesus, Thou Art Mine Forever
Jesus, Thou art mine forever,
Dearer far than earth to me;
Neither life nor death shall sever
Those sweet ties which bind to Thee.All were drear to me and lonely
If Thy presence gladdened not;
While I sing to Thee, Thee only,
Mine’s an ever blissful lot.Thou alone art all my Treasure,
Who hast died that I may live;
Thou conferrest noblest pleasure,
Who dost all my sins forgive.Brightest gems and fairest flowers
Lose their beauty in Thy frown;
Joy and peace, like balmy showers,
In Thy smile come gently down.Jesus, Thou art mine forever;
Never suffer me to stray.
Let me in my weakness never
Cast my priceless pearl away.Lamb of God, I do implore Thee,
Guard, support me, lest I fall.
Let me evermore adore Thee;
Be my everlasting All.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:25] In Sin I Once Had Wandered
In sin I once had wandered,
All weary, sad, and lone,
Till Jesus through His mercy
Adopted me His own.
E’er since I learned to trust Him,
His grace doth make me free,
And now I feel His pardon,
He’s everything to me.Refrain
He’s everything to me,
From sin He sets me free,
His peace and love my portion
Through all eternity!
He’s everything to me,
More than I dreamed could be.
O praise His Name forever!
He’s everything to me.In sin no more I’ll wander;
He’s Pilot, Friend, and Guide;
He brings me joy and singing;
His Spirit doth abide.
A blessèd, loving Savior,
The Lamb of Calvary!
He purchased my redemption.
He’s everything to me.Refrain
No longer will I stray from
His tender, loving care;
Like Him to be my purpose,
My aim, my constant prayer.
And when He bids me welcome
Throughout eternity,
I’ll praise His Name forever.
He’s everything to me.Refrain

[Psa 73:25] Jesus, Master, Whose I Am
Jesus, Master, whose I am,
Purchased Thine alone to be,
By Thy blood, O spotless Lamb,
Shed so willingly for me,
Let my heart be all Thine own,
Let me live for Thee alone.Other lords have long held sway;
Now Thy Name alone to bear,
Thy dear voice alone obey,
Is my daily, hourly prayer;
Whom have I in heaven but Thee?
Nothing else my joy can be.Jesus, Master, whom I serve,
Though so feebly and so ill,
Strengthen hand and heart and nerve
All Thy bidding to fulfill;
Open Thou mine eyes to see
All the work Thou hast for me.Lord, Thou needest not, I know,
Service such as I can bring,
Yet I long to prove and show
Full allegiance to my King.
Jesus, let me always be
In Thy service glad and free.Jesus, Master, I am Thine;
Keep me faithful, keep me near;
Let Thy presence in me shine
All my homeward way to cheer,
Jesus, at Thy feet I fall,
O be Thou my all in all.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:25] Lord Of Earth, Thy Forming Hand
Lord of earth, Thy forming hand,
Well this beauteous frame hath planned,
Woods that wave, and hills that tower,
Ocean rolling in his power;
Yet amidst this scene so fair,
Should I cease thy smile to share,
What were all its joys to me?
Whom have I on earth but Thee?Lord of Heaven, beyond our sight
Shines a world of purer light;
There in love’s unclouded reign,
Severed friends shall meet again:
O that world is passing fair!
Yet, if Thou wert absent there,
What were all its joys to me?
Whom have I in Heaven but Thee?Lord of earth and Heaven, my breast
Seeks in Thee its only rest;
I was lost; Thy accents mild
Homeward lured Thy wandering child:
O if once Thy smile divine
Ceased upon my soul to shine,
What were earth or Heaven to me?
Whom have in each but Thee?Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:25] None Other Lamb
None other Lamb, none other Name,
None other hope in Heav’n or earth or sea,
None other hiding place from guilt and shame,
None beside Thee!My faith burns low, my hope burns low;
Only my heart’s desire cries out in me
By the deep thunder of its want and woe,
Cries out to Thee.Lord, Thou art Life, though I be dead;
Love’s fire Thou art, however cold I be:
Nor Heav’n have I, nor place to lay my head,
Nor home, but Thee.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:25] O Fly To Him
Eternity is drawing near,
O unconverted soul.
Dost thou not fear the troubled waves
That o’er thee soon may roll?Refrain
O fly to Him, the blessèd One,
Who pleads thy cause on high;
While yet His mercy calleth thee,
Say, wherefore wilt thou die?Eternity is drawing near,
Yet unprepared art thou;
Alas, what must become of thee
Should death o’ertake thee now?Refrain
Eternity is drawing near,
Fast wanes thy taper light,
Oh, think how soon its flick’ring spark
May fade in endless night!Refrain
Oh, slight the Savior’s call no more;
Thou hast no help but He;
And if thou still His grace refuse
Where will thy refuge be?Refrain

[Psa 73:25] Only In Thee
Only in Thee, O Savior mine,
Dwelleth my soul in peace divine,
Peace that the world, though all combine,
Never can take from me.
Pleasures of earth, so seemingly sweet,
Fail at the last my longings to meet;
Only in Thee my bliss is complete,
Only, dear Lord, in Thee!Only in Thee a radiance bright,
Shines like a beacon in the night,
Guiding my pilgrim bark aright,
Over life’s trackless sea.
Only in Thee, when troubles molest,
When with temptation I am oppressed,
There is a sweet pavilion of rest,
Only, dear Lord, in Thee!Only in Thee, when days are drear,
When neither sun nor stars appear,
Still I can trust and feel no fear,
Sing when I cannot see.
Only in Thee, whatever betide,
All of my need is freely supplied;
There is no help nor helper beside,
Only, dear Lord, in Thee!Only in Thee, dear Savior, slain,
Losing Thy life my own to gain,
Trusting, I’m cleansed from ev’ry stain;
Thou art my only plea.
Only in Thee my heart will delight,
Till in that land where cometh no night
Faith will be lost in heavenly sight,
Only, dear Lord, in Thee!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:25] To Whom Can I Go?
To whom can I go but to Jesus
When tempted to doubt and despair?
He only can heal my diseases,
He only will answer my prayer.Refrain
To whom can I go? To whom can I go
But to the dear Savior who loveth me so?
This wonderful Friend
Is true to the end:
To whom can I go but Jesus?To whom can I go but to Jesus?
Above me the tempest may break:
He surely will save me from danger,
His child He will never forsake.Refrain
To whom can I go but to Jesus?
Who loves me so fondly as He
Who died on the cross to redeem me,
And liveth my Helper to be?Refrain
To whom can I go but to Jesus?
He knoweth the way that I take;
His sheep He will surely deliver;
His own He will never forsake.Refrain

[Psa 73:25] Wait On The Lord
Wait on the Lord, wait patiently,
And thou shalt in Him be blest;
After the storm, a holy calm,
And after thy labor rest.Refrain
Wait on the Lord, for whom hast thou
On earth or in Heaven but He?
Over thy soul a watch He keeps,
Wherever thy path may be.Wait on the Lord, wait cheerfully,
And He will thy youth renew;
Wait on the Lord obediently,
Whatever He bids thee do.Refrain
Wait on the Lord, wait lovingly,
Confide in His care thy all;
Those that abide in perfect peace
No danger can e’er befall.Refrain
Wait on the Lord, wait joyfully,
For then shall thy heart be strong;
Lo! by His hand He leadeth thee,
And thou shalt be filled with song.Refrain

[Psa 73:25] Whom Have I In Heaven?
Whom have I in Heav’n above? Only Thee, my Savior;
Whom have I on earth to love? Only Thee, my Savior;
Who my wounded heart can heal, who my every sorrow feel,
Who the light of joy reveal? Only Thee, my Savior.Who has led me all my days? Only Thou, my Savior;
Who deserves my highest praise? Only Thou, my Savior;
In my weakness Who is strong, who has loved and loved me long,
Who should claim my noblest song? Only Thou, my Savior.Who my inmost thoughts can read? Only Thou, my Savior;
Who for me doth intercede? Only Thou, my Savior;
Who my secret thoughts can know, who such tender mercy show,
Who can make me white as snow? Only Thou, my Savior.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 73:26] My God, My Portion, And My Love
My God, my portion, and my love,
My everlasting all!
I’ve none but Thee in Heav’n above,
Or on this earthly ball.What empty things are all the skies,
And this inferior clod!
There’s nothing here deserves my joys,
There’s nothing like my God.In vain the bright, the burning sun
Scatters his feeble light;
’Tis Thy sweet beams create my noon;
If Thou withdraw, ’tis night.And whilst upon my restless bed,
Amongst the shades I roll,
If my Redeemer shows His head,
’Tis morning with my soul.To Thee we owe our wealth, and friends,
And health, and safe abode:
Thanks to Thy Name for meaner things,
But they are not my God.How vain a toy is glitt’ring wealth,
If once compared to Thee!
Or what’s my safety, or my health,
Or all my friends to me?Were I possessor of the earth,
And called the stars my own,
Without Thy graces and Thyself
I were a wretch undone.Let others stretch their arms like seas
And grasp in all the shore,
Grant me the visits of Thy face,
And I desire no more.Play source: Cyberhymnal
