  Meet and right it is to sing In every time and place, Glory to our heavenly King, The God of truth and grace: Join we then with sweet accord, All in one thanksgiving join, Holy, holy, holy Lord Eternal praise be Thine! Thee, the first-born sons of light, In choral symphonies, Praise by day, day without night, And never, never cease: Angels and archangels all Praise the mystic Three in One; Sing, and stop, and gaze, and fall O’erwhelmed before Thy throne. Vying with that happy choir, Who chant Thy praise above, We on eagles’ wings aspire, The wings of faith and love; Thee they sing with glory crowned, We extol the slaughtered Lamb; Lower if our voices sound, Our subject is the same. Father God, Thy love we praise, Which gave Thy Son to die; Jesus, full of truth and grace, Alike we glorify; Spirit, Comforter divine, Praise by all to Thee be given; Till we in full chorus join, And earth is turned to Heaven.

• [Psa 148:2] O Thou To Whom Archangels Raise

  O Thou to Whom archangels raise A ceaseless song of perfect praise, Yet tremble as they sing; To us incline Thy gracious ear, And while, with reverence, we draw near, Accept the praise we bring. In vain with all the angel choir, The ransomed hosts of Heav’n aspire Thy glory to proclaim; How then shall we approach Thy throne? How make Thy countless mercies known, Or sing Thine awful Name? Thy love alone our stay hath been, In every dark and changing scene Throughout the circling year; Preserved by Thine almighty hand, Again before Thy face we stand, And sing Thy goodness here. Father, for Jesus’ sake receive The praise which now we gladly give, Though with a stammering tongue; Grant us at length to see Thy face, And join with all the ransomed race In Heav’n’s eternal song.

  Let the whole creation cry: Alleluia! Glory to the Lord on high! Alleluia! Heav’n and earth, awake and sing: Alleluia! God is good and therefore King! Alleluia! Praise Him, all ye hosts above, Alleluia! Ever bright and fair in love, Alleluia! Sun and moon, lift up your voice, Alleluia! Night and stars in God rejoice, Alleluia! Warriors fighting for the Lord, Alleluia! Prophets burning with His Word, Alleluia! Those to whom the arts belong, Alleluia! Add their voices to the song, Alleluia! Kings of knowledge and of law, Alleluia! To the glorious circle draw, Alleluia! All who work and all who wait, Alleluia! Sing, “The Lord is good and great!” Alleluia! Men and women, young and old, Alleluia! Raise the anthem manifold, Alleluia! And let children’s happy hearts, Alleluia! In this worship bear their parts, Alleluia! From the north to southern pole, Alleluia! Let the mighty chorus roll, Alleluia! “Holy, holy, holy One,” Alleluia! “Glory be to God alone!” Alleluia!

• [Psa 148:5] O Source Divine, And Life Of All

  O Source divine, and life of all, The Fount of being’s wondrous sea! Thy depth would every heart appall That saw not love supreme in Thee. We shrink before Thy vast abyss, Where worlds on worlds eternal brood: We know Thee truly but in this— That Thou bestowest all our good. And so, ’mid boundless time and space, O grant us still in Thee to dwell, And through the ceaseless web to trace Thy presence working all things well. Nor let Thou life’s delightful play Thy truth’s transcendent vision hide; Nor strength and gladness lead astray From Thee, our nature’s only Guide. Bestow on every joyous thrill Thy deeper tones of reverent awe: Make pure Thy children’s erring will, And teach their hearts to love Thy law.
