[Mar 16:4] Angels, Roll The Rock Away
Angels, roll the rock away,
Death, yield up your mighty Prey.
See, the Savior leaves the tomb,
Glowing with immortal bloom,
Glowing with immortal bloom.Shout, ye seraphs! Gabriel, raise
Fame’s eternal trump of praise.
Let the world’s remotest bound
Hear the joy inspiring sound,
Hear the joy inspiring sound.Saints on earth, lift up your eyes
Now to glory see Him rise,
In long triumph up the sky,
Up to waiting worlds on high,
Up to waiting worlds on high.Heaven unfolds its portals wide,
Gracious Hero, through them ride;
King of glory, mount Thy throne,
Boundless empire is Thine own,
Boundless empire is Thine own.Praise Him, ye celestial choirs,
Praise, and sweep your golden lyres,
Shout, O earth, in rapturous song;
Let the strains be sweet and strong,
Let the strains be sweet and strong.Every note with wonder swell,
Sin o’erthrown, and captived hell,
Where is hell’s once dreaded king?
Where, O death, thy mortal sting?
Where, O death, thy mortal sting?or
Hail! victorious Jesus, hail!
On Thy cloud of glory sail
In long triumph through the sky,
Up to waiting worlds on high,
Up to waiting worlds on high.Heaven unfolds its portals wide,
Glorious Hero, through them ride:
King of glory mount Thy throne,
Thy great Father’s, and Thine own,
Thy great Father’s, and Thine own.Praise Him all ye heavenly choirs,
Raptured, sweep your sounding lyres
Sons of men, in humbler strain,
Sing your mighty Savior’s reign,
Sing your mighty Savior’s reign.Every note with wonder swell;
Sin o’erthrown, and captived hell!
Where is now, O death! thy sting?
Where thy terrors, vanquished king,
Where thy terrors, vanquished king!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Mar 16:4] Ere Yet The Dawn Has Filled The Skies
Ere yet the dawn has filled the skies,
Behold, my Savior Christ arise;
He chaseth from us sin and night,
And brings us joy and life and light.O stronger Thou than death and hell!
Where is the foe Thou canst not quell,
What heavy stone Thou canst not roll
From off the prisoned, anguished soul?If Jesus lives, can I be sad?
I know He loves me, and am glad;
Though all the world were dead to me,
Enough, O Christ, if I have Thee!He feeds me, comforts and defends,
And when I die His angel sends
To bear me whither He is gone,
For of His own He loseth none.Strong Champion! For this comfort, see,
The whole world brings her thanks to Thee;
And once we, too, shall raise above
More sweet and loud the song of love.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Mar 16:4] Joy, Joy, Immortal Joy
Joy, joy, immortal joy!
The Lord is ris’n to reign;
On Easter day, the Scriptures say,
Christ rose to life again.
On Easter day, the Scriptures say,
Christ rose to life again.Joy, deep and living joy!
The stone is rolled away;
The empty tomb has lost its gloom,
The night has turned to day.
The empty tomb hast lost its gloom,
The night has turned to day.Joy, pure and sacred joy!
Let men and angels sing;
Let every voice in song rejoice
To praise our Lord and King.
Let every voice in song rejoice
To praise our Lord and King.Joy, rich and endless joy!
High Heav’n the praise prolong;
Let holy joy all tongues employ
And fill the world with song.
Let holy joy all tongues employ
And fill the world with song.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Mar 16:4] On Wings Of Living Light
On wings of living light,
At earliest dawn of day,
Came down the angel bright;
And rolled the stone away.Refrain
Your voices raise with one accord,
To bless and praise your risen Lord!
To bless and praise your risen Lord!The keepers watching near,
At that dread sight and sound;
Fell down with sudden fear
Like dead men to the ground.Refrain
Then rose from death’s dark gloom,
Unseen by mortal eye,
Triumphant o’er the tomb,
The Lord of earth and sky!Refrain
Ye children of the light,
Arise with Him, arise;
See, how the Day-star bright
Is burning in the skies!Refrain
Leave in the grave beneath
The old things passed away;
Buried with Him in death,
O live with Him today.Refrain
Oh, let your hearts be strong!
For we, like Him, shall rise;
To dwell with Him ere long
In bliss beyond the skies!Refrain
We sing Thee, Lord divine,
With all our hearts and powers;
For we are ever Thine;
And Thou art ever ours.Refrain

[Mar 16:6] Rise All Who Seek The Crucified
Rise all who seek the Crucified,
The God that once for sinners died,
With lifted voice and heart adore,
Chasing our griefs, and sins, and fears,
The Sun of Righteousness appears,
Appears, to set in blood no more.To death delivered in our stead,
For us He rises from the dead,
And life to all His members brings;
He gives us, while He soars above,
The dew of grace, the balm of love,
And drops salvation from His wings.This day the Scripture is fulfilled,
The Father now His Son has sealed,
And owned Him for His Son with power;
God from the belly of the earth
Hath called Him forth to second birth,
Nor let the greedy deep devour.Cast for our sins into the deep,
His life hath saved the sinking ship,
His life for ours a ransom given;
But lo! on the third joyful morn
Our Jonas doth for us return
Emerging from His tomb to Heaven.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Mar 16:6] Low In The Grave He Lay
Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior,
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!Refrain
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!Vainly they watch His bed, Jesus my Savior;
Vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!Refrain
Death cannot keep its Prey, Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!Refrain

[Mar 16:9] Happy Magdalene, To Whom
Happy Magdalene, to whom
Christ the Lord vouchsafed t’appear!
Newly risen from the tomb,
Would He first be seen by her?
Her by seven devils possessed,
Till His Word the fiends expelled;
Quenched the hell within her breast,
All her sins and sickness healed.Yes, to her the Master came,
First His welcome voice she hears:
Jesus calls her by her name,
He the weeping sinner cheers,
Lets her the dear task repeat,
While her eyes again run o’er;
Lets her wash His bleeding feet,
Kiss them, and with joy adore.Highly favored soul! To her
Farther still His grace extends,
Raises the glad messenger,
Sends her to His drooping friends;
Tidings of their living Lord
First in her report they find:
She must spread the Gospel word,
Teach the teachers of mankind.Who can now presume to fear?
Who despair his Lord to see?
Jesus, wilt Thou not appear,
Show Thyself alive to me?
Yea, my God, I dare not doubt,
Thou shalt all my sins remove;
Thou hast cast a legion out,
Thou wilt perfect me in love.Surely Thou hast called me now!
Now I hear the voice divine,
At Thy wounded feet I bow,
Wounded for whose sins but mine!
I have nailed Him to the tree,
I have sent Him to the grave:
But the Lord is ris’n for me,
Hold of Him by faith I have.Here for ever I would lie,
Didst Thou not Thy servant raise,
Send me forth to testify
All the wonders of Thy grace.
Lo! I at Thy bidding go,
Gladly to Thy followers tell
They their rising God may know,
They the life of Christ may feel.Hear, ye brethren of the Lord,
(Such as He vouchsafes to call)
O believe the Gospel word,
Christ hath died, and rose for all:
Turn ye from your sins to God,
Haste to Galilee, and see
Him, who bought Thee with His blood,
Him, who rose to live in Thee.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Mar 16:9] Son Of The Highest, Deign To Cast
Son of the Highest, deign to cast
On us a pitying eye,
Thou Who repentant Magdalene
Didst call to joys on high.Thy long lost coin is stored at length
In treasure house divine,
The jewel from pollution cleansed
Doth now the stars outshine.Jesu, the balm of every wound,
The sinner’s only stay,
Grant us, like Magdalene, to weep
In this Thy mercy’s day.Absolve us by Thy gracious Word,
Fulfill us with Thy love,
And guide us through the storms of life
To perfect rest above.All praise, all glory be to Thee,
O everlasting Lord,
Whose mercy doth our souls forgive,
Whose bounty doth reward.Play source: Cyberhymnal
