John 15:8-13

[Joh 15:10] Abide, O Dearest Jesus
Abide, O dearest Jesus,
Among us with Thy grace,
That Satan may not harm us,
Nor we to sin give place.Abide, O dear Redeemer,
Among us with Thy Word,
And thus now and hereafter
True peace and joy afford.Abide with heav’nly brightness
Among us, precious Light;
Thy truth direct, and keep us
From error’s gloomy night.Abide with richest blessings
Among us, bounteous Lord;
Let us in grace and wisdom
Grow daily through Thy Word.Abide with Thy protection
Among us, Lord, our Strength,
Lest world and Satan fell us
And overcome at length.Abide, O faithful Savior,
Among us with Thy love;
Grant steadfastness, and help us
To reach our home above.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Joh 15:10] He Whispers His Love To Me
’Tis so sweet just to know that along the way
Jesus walks by my side all the livelong day,
And He knows when the shadows begin to low’r,
And He whispers His love to me o’er and o’er.Refrain
He whispers His love to me,
He whispers His love to me;
Lest I should stray from Him away,
He whispers His love to me.When He scatters the gifts from His boundless store,
And His showers of blessing around me pour,
Lest I humble and grateful forget to be,
Jesus whispers His wonderful love to me.Refrain
When my heart is so tempted and sorely tried,
It is then that I know He is by my side,
And I know He will give me the victory,
As He whispers His wonderful love to me.Refrain
O His voice is so wondrously sweet to me!
There’s no music on earth has such melody;
There’s no joy that can come to the human heart
Like the joy that His love ever doth impart.Refrain

[Joh 15:10] His Love Can Never Fail
I do not ask to see the way
My feet will have to tread;
But only that my soul may feed
Upon the living Bread.
’Tis better far that I should walk
By faith close to His side;
I may not know the way I go,
But oh, I know my Guide.Refrain
His love can never fail,
His love can never fail,
My soul is satisfied to know
His love can never fail.And if my feet would go astray,
They cannot, for I know
That Jesus guides my falt’ring steps,
As joyfully I go.
And tho’ I may not see His face,
My faith is strong and clear,
That in each hour of sore distress
My Savior will be near.Refrain
I will not fear, tho’ darkness come
Abroad o’er all the land,
If I may only feel the touch
Of His own loving hand.
And tho’ I tremble when I think
How weak I am, and frail,
My soul is satisfied to know
His love can never fail.Refrain

[Joh 15:10] In Heavenly Love Abiding
In heavenly love abiding, no change my heart shall fear.
And safe in such confiding, for nothing changes here.
The storm may roar without me, my heart may low be laid,
But God is round about me, and can I be dismayed?Wherever He may guide me, no want shall turn me back.
My Shepherd is beside me, and nothing can I lack.
His wisdom ever waking, His sight is never dim.
He knows the way He’s taking, and I will walk with Him.Green pastures are before me, which yet I have not seen.
Bright skies will soon be over me, where darkest clouds have been.
My hope I cannot measure, my path to life is free.
My Savior has my treasure, and He will walk with me.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Joh 15:13] Christ A Redeemer And Friend
Poor, weak and worthless though I am
I have a rich almighty Friend;
Jesus, the Savior, is His Name;
He freely loves, and without end.He ransomed me from hell with blood,
And by His power my foes controlled;
He found me wandering far from God,
And brought me to His chosen fold.He cheers my heart, my wants supplies,
And says that I shall shortly be,
Enthroned with Him above the skies;
O what a Friend is Christ to me!But, ah! my inmost spirit mourns;
And well my eyes with tears may swim,
To think of my perverse returns:
I’ve been a faithless friend to Him.Often my gracious Friend I grieve,
Neglect, distrust, and disobey;
And often Satan’s lies believe
Sooner than all my Friend can say.He bids me always freely come,
And promises whate’er I ask:
But I am straitened, cold and dumb,
And count my privilege a taskBefore the world that hates His course,
My treach’rous heart has throbbed with shame;
Loath to forego the worlds applause,
I hardly dare avow His Name.Sure, were I not most vile and base,
I could not thus my Friend requite!
And were not He the God of grace,
He’d frown and spurn me from His sight.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Joh 15:13] I Vow To Thee, My Country
I vow to thee, my country—all earthly things above—
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.And there’s another country, I’ve heard of long ago—
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Joh 15:13] Jesus Is My Best Of Friends
Jesus is my best of friends,
None like Him ’mongst mortals born;
And shall I whom He defends,
Join the world, His goodness scorn?
Naught shall raise a parting line
To hold me from His tend’rest love;
One shall be His will and mine
Lifelong here, for aye above.Once He suffered death for me;
In that death He conquered sin,
Him redeeming still I see;
Wondrous strength from Him I win.
Who could sullen, sit complaining,
Knowing Christ has sealed his bliss?
Who, the ransom gift disdaining,
E’er could fly such love as His?In that well proved love I bide;
Naught from Him this heart shall sever.
Angel glory, mortal pride,
Wealth or want shall part us never.
Depth below nor heights above,
E’er shall hold my soul enticed,
Luring from a Father’s love
Mine henceforth in Jesus Christ.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Joh 15:13] Lord Of Our Highest Love!
Lord of our highest love!
Let now Thy peace be giv’n;
Fix all our thoughts on things above,
Our hearts on Thee in Heav’n.Then, dearest Lord, draw near,
Whilst we Thy table spread;
And crown the feast with heav’nly cheer,
Thyself the living Bread.And when the loaf we break,
Thine own rich blessing give,
May all with loving hearts partake
And all new strength receive.Dear Lord! what memories crowd
Around the sacred cup!
The upper room! Gethsemane!
Thy foes! Thy lifting up!O scenes of suffering love,
Enough our souls to win—
Enough to melt our hearts and prove
The antidote of sin.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Joh 15:13] O Valiant Hearts
O valiant hearts who to your glory came
Through dust of conflict and through battle flame;
Tranquil you lie, your knightly virtue proved,
Your memory hallowed in the land you loved.Proudly you gathered, rank on rank, to war
As who had heard God’s message from afar;
All you had hoped for, all you had, you gave,
To save mankind—yourselves you scorned to save.Splendid you passed, the great surrender made;
Into the light that nevermore shall fade;
Deep your contentment in that blest abode,
Who wait the last clear trumpet call of God.Long years ago, as earth lay dark and still,
Rose a loud cry upon a lonely hill,
While in the frailty of our human clay,
Christ, our Redeemer, passed the self same way.Still stands His Cross from that dread hour to this,
Like some bright star above the dark abyss;
Still, through the veil, the Victor’s pitying eyes
Look down to bless our lesser Calvaries.These were His servants, in His steps they trod,
Following through death the martyred Son of God:
Victor, He rose; victorious too shall rise
They who have drunk His cup of sacrifice.O risen Lord, O Shepherd of our dead,
Whose cross has bought them and Whose staff has led,
In glorious hope their proud and sorrowing land
Commits her children to Thy gracious hand.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Joh 15:13] Oh, Wonderful Love!
I have a Redeemer, O worship His Name,
He bore my transgressions, my sin and my shame,
And in His own body on Calvary’s tree,
He took them upon Him that I might go free.Refrain
Oh, wonderful love that saved me from sin!
Oh, wonderful love that cleansed me within!
His Spirit bears witness that now I am saved;
All glory to Jesus,
I’m saved, I’m saved, I’m saved!I have a Redeemer Who calls me his own,
He bids me come boldly before His great throne;
Because I am pardoned and cleansed by His blood,
And guiltless, tho’ living ’mid earth’s evil flood.Refrain
Yes, sweet are Thy mercies, O Savior divine,
In tender compassion Thou madest me Thine;
With Thee I will journey till life’s day is done,
And all thro’ the ages give praise to the Son.Refrain

[Joh 15:13] Very Friend I Need, The
When I’m sad and heavy laden,
Burdened with the weight of sin,
Jesus is the very Friend I need;
To the bloodstained cross He points me,
And He gives me peace within,
Jesus is the very Friend I need.Refrain
O, He is the best of friends,
For His goodness never ends,
And His love will every human thought exceed;
Let me love Him more and more,
’Till I stand on glory’s shore;
O, Jesus is the very Friend I need.When I’m struggling with temptation,
When my strength shall almost fail,
Jesus is the very Friend I need;
For His arm will bring deliverance,
And His grace will still prevail,
Jesus is the very Friend I need.Refrain
When I drink the cup of sorrow,
When I tread the path of grief,
Jesus is the very Friend I need;
In His Word is consolation,
In His presence sweet relief,
Jesus is the very Friend I need.Refrain
When I reach the silent river,
When I wait beside the tide,
Jesus is the very Friend I need;
He will bear me o’er the billows
To the radiant morning side,
Jesus is the very Friend I need.Refrain

[Joh 15:13] We Thank Thee, Jesus, Dearest Friend
We thank Thee, Jesus, dearest Friend,
That Thou didst into Heav’n ascend.
O blessèd Savior, bid us live
And strength to soul and body give.
Hallelujah!Ascended to His throne on high,
Hid from our sight, yet always nigh,
He rules and reigns at God’s right hand
And has all power at His command.
Hallelujah!The man who trusts in Him is blest
And finds in Him eternal rest;
This world’s allurements we despise
And fix on Christ alone our eyes.
Hallelujah!We therefore heartily rejoice
And sing His praise with cheerful voice;
He captive led captivity,
From bitter death He set us free.
Hallelujah!Through Him we heirs of Heaven are made;
O Brother, Christ, extend Thine aid
That we may firmly trust in Thee
And through Thee live eternally.
Hallelujah!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Joh 15:13] What A Friend We Have In Jesus
What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Joh 15:13] What Wondrous Love Is This?
What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul.When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul, for my soul,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul.To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb, I will sing.
To God and to the Lamb Who is the great “I Am”;
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing;
While millions join the theme, I will sing.And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on;
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on.
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing and joyful be;
And through eternity, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on;
And through eternity, I’ll sing on.Play source: Cyberhymnal
