  I met the Good Shepherd, just now on the plain, As homeward He carried His lost one again; I marveled how gently His burden He bore; And as He passed by me, I knelt to adore. O Shepherd, Good Shepherd, Thy wounds they are deep; The wolves have sore hurt Thee in saving Thy sheep. Thy raiment all over with crimson is dyed; And what is this wound they have made in Thy side? O Shepherd, Good Shepherd, and is it for me This grievous affliction has fallen on Thee? Thy wounds make me love Thee, my heart shall be Thine; With Thee I will journey, my Shepherd divine.

  Hark! ’tis the Shepherd’s voice I hear Out in the desert dark and drear, Calling the sheep who’ve gone astray Far from the Shepherd’s fold away. Refrain Bring them in, bring them in, Bring them in from the fields of sin; Bring them in, bring them in, Bring the wand’ring ones to Jesus. Who’ll go and help this Shepherd kind, Help Him the wand’ring ones to find? Who’ll bring the lost ones to the fold, Where they’ll be sheltered from the cold? • [Joh 10:16] Our Savior’s Voice Is Soft And Sweet

  Our Savior’s voice is soft and sweet When, bending from above, He bids us gather round His feet, And calls us by His love. But while our thankful hearts rejoice That thus He bids us come, “Jesus!” we cry with pleading voice, “Bring heathen wand’rers home.” They never heard the Savior’s Name, They have not learned His way; They do not know His grace Who came To take their sins away. Dear Savior, let the joyful sound In distant lands be heard; And, oh! wherever sin is found, Send forth Thy pardoning Word. And if our lips may breathe a prayer, Though raised in trembling fear, Oh! let Thy grace our hearts prepare, And choose some heralds here.

• [Joh 10:16] Remember All The People

  Remember all the people Who live in far off lands In strange and lovely cities Or roam the desert sands, Or farm the mountain pastures Or till the endless plains Where children wade through rice fields And watch the camel trains. Some work in sultry forests Where apes swing to and fro, Some fish in mighty rivers, Some hunt across the snow. Remember all God’s children, Who yet have never Heard The truth that comes from Jesus, The glory of His Word. God bless the men and women Who serve Him overseas; God raise up more to help them To set the nations free, Till all the distant people In every foreign place Shall understand His kingdom, And come into His grace.

  When the sheep have all been gathered, To the Shepherd’s fold on high, And are resting, sweetly resting ’Neath a calm, unchanging sky; When we look with cloudless vision Stretching far and far away, O’er that land beyond the sunset, Where the morning breezes play. Refrain There, beside the wells of water From celestial springs, Celestial springs that flow, There the everlasting kindness Of our Savior we shall know. When our final march is ended, And the last dread conflict o’er; When the world recedes forever, To revolve as now no more; When the hosts of God’s redeemed ones With the grand orchestral throng Of the angels and archangels Shout their hallelujah song.
