Isaiah 32:1--35:10
-
[Isa 32:1] Eternal Father, Thou Hast Said
Eternal Father, Thou hast said
That Christ all glory shall obtain;
That He Who once a suff’rer bled
Shall o’er the world a conqu’ror reign.We wait Thy triumph, Savior King,
Long ages have prepared Thy way;
Now all abroad Thy banner fling,
Set time’s great battle in array.Thy hosts are mustered to the field;
“The Cross! the Cross!” the battle call;
The old grim towers of darkness yield,
And soon shall totter to their fall.On mountain tops the watch fires glow,
Where scattered wide the watchmen stand;
Voice echoes voice, and onward flow
The joyous shouts from land to land.Oh, fill the Church with faith and power!
Bid her long nights of weeping cease;
To groaning nations haste the hour
Of life and freedom, light and peace.Come, Spirit, make Thy wonders known,
Fulfill the Father’s high decree;
Then earth, the might of hell o’er thrown,
Shall keep her last great jubilee.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 32:1] Holy Spirit, From On High
Holy Spirit, from on high,
Bend o’er us with pitying eye;
Now refresh the drooping heart;
Bid the power of sin depart.Light up every dark recess
Of our heart’s ungodliness;
Show us every devious way
Where our steps have gone astray.Teach us, with repentant grief,
Humbly to implore relief;
Then the Savior’s blood reveal,
And our broken spirits heal.May we daily grow in grace,
And with patience run the race,
Trained in wisdom, led by love,
Till we reach our home above.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 32:2] Shadow Of The Rock, The
Lead to the shadow of the Rock of Refuge
My weary feet;
Give me the water from the life-stream flowing
Clear, pure and sweet.Refrain
There from the billows and the tempest hiding,
Under the shelter of Thy love abiding,
Safe in the shadow of the “Rock of Ages,”
Joy shall be mine!Lead to the shadow of the Rock Eternal
My heart oppressed;
There in the secret of Thy holy presence,
Calm shall I rest.Refrain
Lead to the shadow of the Rock of Ages;
Oh, keep Thou me
Safe from the arrows of the world’s temptations,
Close, close to Thee!Refrain

[Isa 32:2] Sheltering Rock, The
There is a Rock in a weary land,
Its shadow falls on the burning sand,
Inviting pilgrims as they pass,
To seek a shade in the wilderness.
Then why will ye die?
O why will ye die?
When the sheltering Rock is so near by,
O why will ye die?There is a Well in a desert plain,
Its waters call with entreating strain,
“Ho, every thirsting, sin sick soul,
Come, freely drink, and thou shalt be whole.”
Then why will ye die?
O why will ye die?
When the living Well is so near by,
O why will ye die?A great fold stands with its portals wide,
The sheep astray on the mountain side;
The Shepherd climbs o’er mountains steep;
He’s searching now for His wandering sheep.
Then why will ye die?
O why will ye die?
When the Shepherd’s fold is so near by,
O why will ye die?There is a cross where the Savior died;
His blood flowed out in a crimson tide,
A sacrifice for sins of men,
And free to all who will enter in.
Then why will ye die?
O why will ye die?
When the crimson cross is so near by,
O why will ye die?Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 32:18] Under The Shadow Of The Cross
I have trusted in a Savior that can save me,
I am resting under the shadow of the cross;
When I trusted, oh, the bliss and joy it gave me,
I am resting under the shadow of the cross.Refrain
Under the shadow of the cross I am resting,
Under the shadow of the cross I am resting,
Under the shadow of the cross I am resting,
And securely Jesus lets me there abide.There has been within my soul a new creation,
I am resting under the shadow of the cross;
Blessèd thought, to feel the full and free salvation,
I am resting under the shadow of the cross.Refrain
Oh, I love to tell the sweet and wondrous story,
I am resting under the shadow of the cross;
Of salvation through a Savior rich in glory,
I am resting under the shadow of the cross.Refrain

[Isa 33:5] He Lives On High
Christ the Savior came from Heaven’s glory,
To redeem the lost from sin and shame;
On His brow He wore the thorn-crown glory,
And upon Calvary He took my blame.Refrain
He lives on high, He lives on high,
Triumphant over sin and all its stain;
He lives on high, He lives on high,
Some day He’s coming again.He arose from death and all its sorrow,
To dwell in that land of joy and love;
He is coming back some glad tomorrow,
And He’ll take all His children home above.Refrain
Weary soul, to Jesus come confessing,
Redemption from sin He offers thee;
Look to Jesus and receive a blessing,
There is life, there is joy and victory!Refrain

[Isa 33:17] Every Morning The Red Sun
Every morning the red sun
Rises warm and bright;
But the evening cometh on,
And the dark, cold night.
There’s a bright land far away,
Where ’tis never-ending day.Every spring the sweet young flowers
Open bright and gay,
Till the chilly autumn hours
Wither them away.
There’s a land we have not seen,
Where the trees are always green.Little birds sing songs of praise
All the summer long,
But in colder, shorter days
They forget their song.
There’s a place where angels sing
Ceaseless praises to their King.Christ our Lord is ever near
Those who follow Him;
But we cannot see Him here,
For our eyes are dim;
There is a most happy place,
Where men always see His face.Who shall go to that bright land?
All who do the right:
Holy children there shall stand
In their robes of white;
For that Heav’n, so bright and blest,
Is our everlasting rest.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 33:17] I Shall See The King
I shall see the King
Where the angels sing;
I shall see the King some day,
In the better land,
On the golden strand,
And with Him shall ever stay.Refrain
In His glory, I shall see the King,
And forever endless praises sing;
’Twas on Calvary Jesus died for me;
I shall see the King some day.In the land of song,
In the glory-throng,
Where there never comes a night,
With my Lord once slain
I shall ever reign
In the glory-land of light.Refrain
I shall see the King,
All my tributes bring,
And shall look upon His face;
Then my song shall be
How He ransomed me
And has kept me by His grace.Refrain

[Isa 34:4] Behold, What Light Rolls Back The Sky?
Behold, what light rolls back the sky?
What fear and trepidation!
The trumpets blast a vict’ry cry
For ransomed congregations.
And leading them, their sovereign head,
Is Christ the judge of quick and dead,
Demanding exultation.No doubt or atheistic thought
Shall then deny God’s power.
Those who against his gospel fought
Shall wail and gnash and cower.
For those who claim they could not know,
Creation’s witness here below
Condemns them in that hour.The spirit-called and blood-redeemed
Shall have full vindication,
Enjoying God with bliss undreamed
In holy consummation.
And those that sleep in Christ, who rise
With flesh made new before their eyes,
Receive glorification.Then let our voice erupt in song
In prayer for His returning.
Be pleased, Lord, not to tarry long
To end creation’s yearning.
Acquitted at your judgement seat,
We’ll cast our crowns before your feet—
Not ours but Christ’s the earning.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 35:1] In A Manger Laid So Lowly
In a manger laid so lowly,
Came the Prince of Peace to earth;
While a choir of angels holy
Sang to celebrate His birth.
“Glory in the highest,”
Sang the glad angelic strain:Refrain
“Glory in the highest,”
“Peace on earth, good will to men,”
“Peace on earth, good will to men.”As the wise men from far Persia
Brought rich gifts to Jewry’s King,
Grateful love, a richer treasure,
Would we as our offering bring.
“Glory in the highest,”
Let us join th’angelic strain;Refrain
Where Christ’s joyful kingdom cometh,
Deserts blossom as the rose;
And God’s gracious rain descendeth,
Where the coral island grows.
“Glory in the highest,”
Once more sing th’angelic strain:Refrain

[Isa 35:5] God Who Made Both Heaven And Earth, The
The God who made both Heaven and earth
And all that they contain
Will never quit His steadfast truth
Nor make His promise vain.The poor and all oppressed by wrong
Are saved by His decree;
He gives the hungry needful food
And sets the captive free.By Him the blind receive their sight,
By Him the fallen rise;
With constant care, His tender love
All human need supplies.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 35:8] I Walk The King’s Highway
I know not where the road will lead
I follow day by day,
Or where it ends: I only know
I walk the King’s highway.I know not if the way is long,
And no one else can say;
But rough or smooth, up hill or down,
I walk the King’s highway.And some I love have reached the end,
But some with me may stay,
Their faith and hope still guiding me:
I walk the King’s highway.The way is truth, the way is love,
For light and strength I pray,
And through the years of life, to God,
I walk the King’s highway.The countless hosts lead on before,
I must not fear nor stray;
With them, the pilgrims of the faith,
I walk the King’s highway.Through light and dark the road leads on
Till dawns the endless day,
When I shall know why in this life
I walk the King’s highway.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 35:8] King’s Highway, The
Wherever you may be, whatever you may see,
That would lead you into evil, say you nay,
I will not turn aside; whatever may betide,
I’ll keep along the middle of the King’s highway.Refrain
The King’s highway, the King’s highway,
I’ll keep along the middle of the King’s highway;
I will not turn aside; whatever may betide,
I’ll keep along the middle of the King’s highway.The meadows may be green, where bypath stile is seen,
Turn aside, the little flowers seem to say;
Be sure you take no heed—they’re trying to mislead—
Just keep along the middle of the King’s highway.Refrain
For on enchanted ground, there’s danger all around,
And a thousand pleasant voices bid you stay,
With fingers stop your ears, and never mind the jeers,
Just keep along the middle of the King’s highway.Refrain
Our God will guide us right, and walking in the light,
We shall win a crown of glory in the day,
When Jesus calls His own together round the throne,
Who keep along the middle of the King’s highway.Refrain

[Isa 35:8] Walking In The King’s Highway
We shall see the desert as the rose,
Walking in the King’s highway;
There’ll be singing where salvation goes,
Walking in the King’s highway.Refrain
There’s a highway there and a way,
Where sorrow shall flee away;
And the light shines bright as the day,
Walking in the King’s highway.We shall see the glory of the Lord,
Walking in the King’s highway;
And behold the beauty of His Word,
Walking in the King’s highway.Refrain
There the rain shall come upon the ground,
Walking in the King’s highway;
And the springs of water will be found,
Walking in the King’s highway.Refrain
There no ravenous beast shall make afraid,
Walking in the King’s highway;
For the purified the way was made,
Walking in the King’s highway.Refrain
No unclean things shall pass o’er here,
Walking in the King’s highway;
But the ransomed ones without a fear,
Walking in the King’s highway.Refrain

[Isa 35:10] Bury Thy Sorrow
Go bury thy sorrow, the world hath its share;
Go bury it deeply, go hide it with care.
Go think of it calmly, when curtained by night;
Go tell it to Jesus, and all will be right.Go tell it to Jesus, He knoweth thy grief;
Go tell it to Jesus, He’ll send thee relief;
Go gather the sunshine He sheds on the way:
He’ll lighten thy burden—Go, weary one, pray.Hearts growing aweary with heavier woe
Now droop ’mid the darkness—Go, comfort them, go!
Go bury thy sorrow, let others be blessed;
Go give them the sunshine, tell Jesus the rest.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 35:10] Join, All Ye Ransomed Sons Of Grace
Join, all ye ransomed sons of grace,
The holy joy prolong,
And shout to the Redeemer’s praise
A solemn midnight song.Blessing, and thanks, and love, and might,
Be to our Jesus giv’n,
Who turns our darkness into light
Who turns our hell to Heav’n.Thither our faithful souls He leads,
Thither He bids us rise,
With crowns of joy upon our heads,
To meet Him in the skies.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 35:10] Joy And Triumph Everlasting
Joy and triumph everlasting
Hath the heav’nly Church on high;
For that pure immortal gladness
All our feast days mourn and sigh:
Yet in death’s dark desert wild
Doth the mother aid her child;
Guards celestial thence attend us,
Stand in combat to defend us.Here the world’s perpetual warfare
Holds from Heav’n the soul apart;
Legioned foes in shadowy terror
Vex the Sabbath of the heart.
O how happy that estate
Where delight doth not abate!
For that home the spirit yearneth,
Where none languisheth nor mourneth.There the body hath no torment,
There the mind is free from care,
There is every voice rejoicing,
Every heart is loving there.
Angels in that city dwell;
Them their King delighteth well:
Still they joy and weary never,
More and more desiring ever.There the seers and fathers holy,
There the prophets glorified,
All their doubts and darkness ended,
In the Light of Light abide.
There the saints, whose memories old
We in faithful hymns uphold,
Have forgot their bitter story
In the joy of Jesus’ glory.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 35:10] O! Say, But I’m Glad
There is a song in my heart today,
Something I never had;
Jesus has taken my sins away,
O! say, but I’m glad.Refrain
O! say, but I’m glad, I’m glad,
O! say, but I’m glad,
Jesus has come and my cup’s overrun;
O! say, but I’m glad.Wonderful, marvelous love He brings,
Into a heart that’s sad;
Through darkest tunnels the soul just sings,
O! say, but I’m glad.Refrain
We have a fellowship rich and sweet,
Tongues can never relate;
Abiding in Him: the soul’s Retreat,
O! but say, I’m glad.Refrain
Won’t you come to Him with all your care,
Weary and worn and sad?
You, too, will sing as His love you share,
O! say, but I’m glad.Refrain

[Isa 35:10] O Songs Of The Beautiful
O songs of the beautiful, songs of the blest,
That breathe o’er the spirit the calmness of rest;
We list to their music, we echo the praise
Of Christ, our Redeemer, the Ancient of Days.Refrain
Songs of the beautiful,
Songs of the beautiful,
Songs of the beautiful,
Songs of the blest.O songs of the beautiful, songs that we hear
When clouds o’er our pathway are heavy and drear;
They tell of a city no mortal hath trod,
A city whose builder and maker is God.Refrain
O songs of the beautiful, songs that we love,
That come from the homeland of Eden above;
We rise with their cadence, we join in their strain,
All harps that were silent are joyful again.Refrain
O songs of the beautiful, songs we may sing
In yonder bright palace where dwelleth our King;
Thro’ ages eternal their chorus shall roll,
“All glory to Jesus,” the Light of the soul.Refrain

[Isa 35:10] Trumpet Of God, Sound High
Trumpet of God, sound high,

At the voice of the Lord awake.
Till the fencèd cities fall
At the blast of the Gospel call,
Trumpet of God, sound high!Hosts of the Lord, go forth:
Go, strong in the power of His rest,
Till the south be at one with the north,
And peace upon east and west;
Till the far-off lands shall thrill
With the gladness of God’s “Goodwill,”
Hosts of the Lord, go forth.Come, as of old, like fire;
O force of the Lord, descend,
Till with love of the world’s Desire
Earth burn to its utmost end;
Till the ransomed people sing
To the glory of Christ the King,
Come, as of old, like fire.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 35:10] Wake The Song
Wake the song of joy and gladness;
Hither bring your noblest lays;
Banish every thought of sadness,
Pouring forth your highest praise.
Sing to Him Whose care has brought us
Once again with friends to meet,
And Whose loving voice has taught us,
Of the way to Jesus’ feet.Refrain
Wake the song, wake the song,
The song of joy and gladness,
Wake the song, wake the song,
The song of Jubilee.Joyfully with songs and banners,
We will greet the festal day;
Shout aloud our glad hosannas,
And our grateful homage pay.
We will chant our Savior’s glory
While our thoughts we raise above,
Telling still “the old old story,”
Precious theme—redeeming love!Refrain
Thanks to Thee, O holy Father,
For the mercies of the year;
May each heart, as here we gather,
Swell with gratitude sincere.
Thanks to Thee, O loving Savior,
For redemption through Thy blood.
Breathe upon us, Holy Spirit,
Sweetly draw us near to God.Refrain
