Ezekiel 33:1--39:29
-
[Eze 33:3] Watchmen! Onward To Your Stations
Watchmen! onward to your stations;
Blow the trumpet long and loud;
Preach the Gospel to the nations,
Speak to ev’ry gath’ring crowd.
See the day is breaking;
See the saints awaking,
No more in sadness bow,
No more in sadness bow.Watchmen! hail the rising glory!
Of the great Messiah’s reign;
Tell the Savior’s bleeding story,
Tell it to the list’ning train;
See His love revealing,
See the Spirit sealing;
’Tis life among the slain!
’Tis life among the slain.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 33:11] Would Jesus Have The Sinner Die?
Would Jesus have the sinner die?
Why hangs He then on yonder tree?
What means that strange expiring cry?
(Sinners, He prays for you and me)
“Forgive them, Father, O forgive,
They know not that by Me they live,”
“They know not that by Me they live!”Jesus descended from above,
Our loss of Eden to retrieve,
Great God of universal love,
If all the world through Thee may live,
In us a quickening Spirit be,
And witness Thou hast died for me,
And witness Thou hast died for me!Thou loving, all-atoning Lamb,
Thee—by Thy painful agony,
Thy bloody sweat, Thy grief and shame,
Thy cross and passion on the tree,
Thy precious death and life—I pray,
Take all, take all my sins away,
Take all, take all my sins away!O let me kiss Thy bleeding feet,
And bathe and wash them with my tears!
The story of Thy love repeat
In every drooping sinner’s ears,
That all may hear the quickening sound,
Since I, even I, have mercy found,
Since I, even I, have mercy found.O let Thy love my heart constrain!
Thy love for every sinner free,
That every fallen soul of man
May taste the grace that found out me;
That all mankind with me may prove
Thy sovereign everlasting love,
Thy sovereign everlasting love.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 33:11] Yea, As I Live, Jehovah Saith
Yea, as I live, Jehovah saith,
I would not have the sinner’s death,
But that he turn from error’s ways,
Repent, and live through endless days.To us therefore Christ gave command:
“Go forth and preach in every land;
Bestow on all My pardoning grace
Who will repent and mend their ways.“All those whose sins ye thus remit
I truly pardon and acquit;
And those whose sins ye do retain
Condemned and guilty shall remain.“What ye shall bind, that bound shall be;
What ye shall loose, that shall be free;
Unto My church the keys are giv’n
To ope and close the gates of Heav’n.”The words which absolution give
Are His Who died that we might live;
The minister whom Christ has sent
Is but His humble instrument.When ministers lay on their hands,
Absolved by Christ the sinner stands;
He who by grace the Word believes
The purchase of His blood receives.All praise, eternal Son, to Thee
For absolution full and free,
In which Thou showest forth Thy grace;
From false indulgence guard our race.Praise God the Father and the Son
And Holy Spirit, Three in One,
As ’twas, is now, and so shall be
World without end, eternity!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 34:12] Long Upon The Mountains
Long upon the mountains weary,
Have the scattered flock been torn;
Dark the desert paths, and dreary;
Grievous trials have they borne.
Now the gathering call is sounding,
Solemn in its warning voice;
Union, faith, and love, abounding,
Bid the little flock rejoice.Now the light of truth they’re seeking,
In its onward track pursue;
All the ten commandments keeping,
They are holy, just and true.
On the words of life they’re feeding,
Precious to their taste so sweet;
All their Master’s precepts heeding,
Bowing humbly at His feet.In that light of light and beauty,
In that golden city fair,
Soon its pearly gates they’ll enter,
And of all its glories share.
There, divine the soul’s expansions;
Free from sin, and death, and pain;
Tears will never dim those mansions
Where the saints immortal reign.Soon He comes! with clouds descending;
All His saints, entombed arise;
The redeemed, in anthems blending,
Shout their vic’try thro’ the skies.
O, we long for Thine appearing;
Come, O Savior, quickly come!
Blessèd hope! our spirits cheering,
Take Thy ransomed children home.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 34:26] Even Me
Lord, I hear of showers of blessing,
Thou art scattering full and free;
Showers the thirsty land refreshing;
Let some drops now fall on me;
Even me, even me,
Let some drops now fall on me.Pass me not, O God, my Father,
Sinful though my heart may be;
Thou mightst leave me, but the rather;
Let Thy mercy light on me;
Even me, even me,
Let Thy mercy light on me.Pass me not, O gracious Savior,
Let me live and cling to Thee;
I am longing for Thy favor;
Whilst Thou’rt calling, O call me;
Even me, even me,
Whilst Thou’rt calling, O call me.Pass me not, O mighty Spirit!
Thou canst make the blind to see;
Witnesser of Jesus’ merit,
Speak the Word of power to me;
Even me, even me,
Speak the Word of power to me.Have I been in sin long sleeping,
Long been slighting, grieving Thee?
Has the world my heart been keeping?
O forgive and rescue me;
Even me, even me,
O forgive and rescue me.Love of God, so pure and changeless,
Blood of Christ, so rich and free;
Grace of God, so strong and boundless
Magnify them all in me;
Even me, even me,
Magnify them all in me.Pass me not; but pardon bringing,
Bind my heart, O Lord, to Thee;
Whilst the streams of life are springing,
Blessing others, O bless me;
Even me, even me,
Blessing others, O bless me.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 34:26] Father, Who On Man Dost Shower
Father, who on man dost shower
Gifts of plenty from Thy dower,
To Thy people give the power
All Thy gifts to use aright.Give pure happiness in leisure,
Temperance in every pleasure,
Holy use of earthly treasure,
Bodies clear and spirits bright.Lift from this and every nation
All that brings us degradation;
Quell the forces of temptation;
Put Thine enemies to flight.Be with us, Thy strength supplying,
That with energy undying,
Every foe of man defying,
We may rally to the fight.Thou Who art our Captain ever,
Lead us on to great endeavor;
May Thy Church the world deliver:
Give us wisdom, courage, might.Father, who has sought and loved us,
Son of God, whose love has bound us,
Holy Ghost, within us, round us—
Hear us, Godhead infinite.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 34:26] O, Father, Thou Who Givest All
O, Father, Thou who givest all
The bounty of Thy perfect love,
We thank Thee that upon us fall
Such tender blessings from above.For eyes to see and ears to hear,
For hands to serve and arms to lift,
For shoulders broad and strong to bear,
For feet to run on errands swift.For faith to conquer doubt and fear,
For love to answer every call,
For strength to do, and will to dare,
We thank Thee, O Thou Lord of all.Play source: Cyberhymnal -

Gathered round our risen Lord,
Lift our hearts in earnest pleading:
Oh, revive us by Thy Word!Refrain
Send refreshing, send refreshing,
From Thy presence, gracious Lord!
Send refreshing, send refreshing,
And revive us by Thy Word!Gracious gales of heav’nly blessing
In Thy love to us afford;
Let us feel Thy Spirit’s presence,
Oh, revive us by Thy Word!Refrain
Weak and weary in the conflict,
“Wrestling not with flesh and blood,”
Help us, Lord, as faint we falter,
Oh, revive us by Thy Word!Refrain
With Thy strength, O Master, gird us;
Be our Guide, and be our Guard:
Fill us with Thy Holy Spirit;
Oh, revive us by Thy Word!Refrain

[Eze 34:26] Showers Of Blessing
Here in Thy Name we are gathered,
Come and revive us, O Lord;
“There shall be showers of blessing,”
Thou hast declared in Thy Word.Refrain
Oh, graciously hear us,
Graciously hear us, we pray:
Pour from Thy windows upon us
Showers of blessing today.Oh! that the showers of blessing,
Now on our souls may descend,
While at the footstool of mercy
Pleading Thy promise we bend!Refrain
“There shall be showers of blessing,”
Promise that never can fail;
Thou wilt regard our petition;
Surely our faith will prevail.Refrain
Showers of blessing, we need them,
Showers of blessing from Thee;
Showers of blessing, oh, grant them,
Thine all the glory shall be.Refrain

[Eze 34:26] Sing We The Glory Of Our God
Sing we the glory of our God,
Who on the second day
Spread out the firmament above,
His wonders to display.There, floating in the blue expanse
The watery clouds we view,
Whence fruitful showers at His command
The thirsty soil bedew.How fair an image of the grace
Which Thou, Lord, dost impart,
Like morning dew or gentle rain,
To gladden every heart.And when the faithful soul drinks in
Those showers with blessings rife,
A well of water springeth up
To everlasting life.O happy saints, on whom are poured,
Such treasures from above!
Lord, may they ne’er forgetful be,
But render love for love.To God, who freely loved us first,
All might, all glory be;
To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
Through all eternity.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 34:26] There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing
There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.Refrain
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.Refrain
There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.Refrain
There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!Refrain
There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.Refrain

[Eze 34:26] Thy Bounties, Gracious Lord
Thy bounties, gracious Lord,
With gratitude we own;
We bless Thy providential grace,
Which show’rs its blessings down.With joy the people bring
Their off’rings round Thy throne;
With thankful souls, behold, we pay
A tribute of Thine own.O may this sacrifice
To Thee, the Lord, ascend,
An odor of sweet perfume,
Presented by His hand.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 36:2] Is This The Kind Return?
Is this the kind return,
And these the thanks we owe,
Thus to abuse eternal love,
Whence all our blessings flow?To what a stubborn frame
Has sin reduced our mind!
What strange rebellious wretches we,
And God as strangely kind!On us He bids the sun
Shed his reviving rays;
For us the skies their circles run,
To lengthen out our days.The brutes obey their God,
And bow their necks to men;
But we, more base, more brutish things,
Reject His easy reign.Turn, turn us, mighty God,
And mold our souls afresh;
Break, sov’reign grace, these hearts of stone,
And give us hearts of flesh.Let old ingratitude
Provoke our weeping eyes,
And hourly as new mercies fall
Let hourly thanks arise.source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 36:26] Come, Holy Ghost, Our Souls Inspire
Come, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire,
And lighten with celestial fire;
Thou the anointing Spirit art,
Who dost Thy sev’nfold gifts impart.Refrain
Praise to Thy eternal merit,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.Thy blessèd unction from above
Is comfort, life, and fire of love;
Enable with perpetual light
The dullness of our blinded sight.Refrain
Anoint and cheer our soilèd face
With the abundance of Thy grace;
Keep far our foes, give peace at home;
Where Thou art Guide, no ill can come.Refrain
Teach us to know the Father, Son,
And Thee, of both, to be but One;
That through the ages all along
This, this may be our endless song.Refrain

[Eze 36:26] Come, Holy Spirit, Calm My Mind
Come, Holy Spirit, calm my mind,
And fit me to approach my God;
Remove each vain, each worldly thought,
And lead me to Thy blest abode.Hast Thou imparted to my soul
A living spark of heavenly fire?
O kindle now the sacred flame;
Teach it to burn with pure desire.Impress upon my wandering mind
The love that Christ for sinners bore;
And give a new, a contrite heart,
A heart the Savior to adore.A brighter faith and hope impart,
And let me now the Savior see;
O soothe and cheer my burdened heart,
And bid my spirit rest in Thee.Play source: Cyberhymnal -

Send them upon us, O Lord!Refrain
Send show’rs of blessing;
Send show’rs refreshing;
Send showers of blessing;
Send them, Lord, we pray!Knowing Thy love, on Thee we call,
Boldly Thy throne addressing;
Pleading that show’rs of grace may fall—
Send them upon us, O Lord!Refrain
Trusting Thy Word that cannot fail,
Master we claim Thy promise;
Oh that our faith may now prevail—
Send us the showers, O Lord!Refrain

[Eze 36:26] Holy, And True, And Righteous Lord
Holy, and true, and righteous Lord,
I wait to prove Thy perfect will,
Be mindful of Thy gracious Word,
And stamp me with Thy Spirit’s seal.Open my faith’s interior eye,
Display Thy glory from above;
And all I am shall sink and die,
Lost in astonishment and love.Confound, o’erpower me by Thy grace,
I would be by myself abhorred;
All might, all majesty, all praise,
All glory, be to Christ my Lord.Now let me gain perfection’s height,
Now let me into nothing fall;
Be less than nothing in Thy sight,
And feel that Christ is all in all!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 36:26] Lord Proclaims His Grace Abroad, The
The Lord proclaims His grace abroad!
“Behold, I change your hearts of stone;
Each shall renounce his idol god,
And serve, henceforth, the Lord alone.“My grace, a flowing stream, proceeds
To wash your filthiness away;
Ye shall abhor your former deeds,
And learn My statutes to obey.“My truth the great design ensures,
I give Myself away to you;
You shall be Mine, I will be yours,
Your God unalterably true.“Yet not unsought or unimplored,
The plenteous grace I shall confer;
No—your whole hearts shall seek the Lord,
I’ll put a praying spirit there.“From the first breath of life divine
Down to the last expiring hour,
The gracious work shall all be Mine,
Begun and ended in My pow’r.”Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 36:26] Now Sweeping Down The Years Untold
Now sweeping down the years untold,
The day of truth is breaking;
And sweet and fair the leaves unfold,
Of love’s immortal waking.For flower and fruitage now are seen,
Where blight and mildew rested:
The Christ today to us has been
By word and deed attested.His living presence we have felt,
The Word made flesh among us:
And hearts of stone before Him melt,
His peace is brooding o’er us.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 36:26] O For A Glance Of Heavenly Day
O for a glance of heavenly day,
To take this stubborn heart away,
And thaw, with beams of love divine,
This heart, this frozen heart of mine.The rocks can rend; the earth can quake;
The seas can roar; the mountains shake:
Of feeling, all things show some sign,
But this unfeeling heart of mine.To hear the sorrows Thou hast felt,
O Lord, an adamant would melt:
But I can read each moving line,
And nothing moves this heart of mine.Thy judgments, too, which devils fear—
Amazing thought! unmoved I hear;
Goodness and wrath in vain combine
To stir this stupid heart of mine.But something yet can do the deed;
And that dear something much I need:
Thy Spirit can from dross refine,
And move and melt this heart of mine.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 36:26] Pour Thy Blessings, Lord, Like Showers
Pour Thy blessings, Lord, like showers,
On these barren lives of ours;
Warm and quicken them with grace
Till they bloom and bear apace
Fruit of prayer and fruit of praise,
Holy thoughts and kindly ways,
Loving sacrifices shown
Wheresoever need is known.Chiefest, Lord, today may we
In the sick and suffering see,
Those whom Thou would’st have us bless
With fraternal tenderness,
With our treasure freely poured,
With compassion’s richer hoard,
With these ministries most dear
To Thy stricken children here.Heavy is the cross they bear,
But our love that cross can share;
Dark Thy providence must seem,
But our cheer can cast a gleam
On their lot; and in our turn
Holiest lessons we may learn,
Where Thine own revealing light
Streams through pain’s mysterious night.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 36:27] Spirit Of God, That Moved Of Old
Spirit of God, that moved of old
Upon the waters’ darkened face,
Come, when our faithless hearts are cold,
And stir them with an inward grace.Thou that art power and peace combined,
All highest strength, all purest love,
The rushing of the mighty wind,
The brooding of the gentle dove.Come, give us still Thy powerful aid,
And urge us on, and make us Thine;
Nor leave the hearts that once were made
Fit temples for Thy grace divine.Nor let us quench Thy sev’nfold light;
But still with softest breathings stir
Our wayward souls, and lead us right,
O Holy Ghost, the Comforter.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eze 37:5] Breathe On Me, Breath Of God
Breathe on me, breath of God,
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.Breathe on me, breath of God,
Until my heart is pure,
Until with Thee I will one will,
To do and to endure.Breathe on me, breath of God,
Blend all my soul with Thine,
Until this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.Breathe on me, breath of God,
So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life
Of Thine eternity.Play source: Cyberhymnal
