• [Rom 8:32] With Solemn Faith We Offer Up

  With solemn faith we offer up And spread, O God, before Thine eyes That only ground of all our hope, That precious, once-made Sacrifice, Which brings Thy grace on sinners down, And perfects all our souls in one. Acceptance through His holy Name, Forgiveness in His blood we have; But more abundant life we claim Through Him Who died our souls to save, To sanctify us by His blood And fill with all the life of God. As it were slain behold Thy Son, And hear His blood that speaks above; Oh let us all Thy grace be shown, Peace, righteousness, and joy, and love: Thy kingdom come to every heart, And all Thou hast, and all Thou art.

• [Rom 8:34] Arise, My Soul, Arise

  Arise, my soul, arise; shake off thy guilty fears; The bleeding sacrifice in my behalf appears: Before the throne my surety stands, Before the throne my surety stands, My name is written on His hands. He ever lives above, for me to intercede; His all redeeming love, His precious blood, to plead: His blood atoned for all our race, His blood atoned for all our race, And sprinkles now the throne of grace. Five bleeding wounds He bears; received on Calvary; They pour effectual prayers; they strongly plead for me: “Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry, “Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry, “Nor let that ransomed sinner die!” The Father hears Him pray, His dear anointed One; He cannot turn away, the presence of His Son; His Spirit answers to the blood, His Spirit answers to the blood, And tells me I am born of God. My God is reconciled; His pardoning voice I hear; He owns me for His child; I can no longer fear: With confidence I now draw nigh, With confidence I now draw nigh, And “Father, Abba, Father,” cry.

• [Rom 8:34] Father, See Thy Children

  Father, see Thy children bending at Thy throne, Pleading here the Passion of Thine only Son, Pleading here before Thee all His dying love, As He pleads it ever in the courts above. Not for our wants only we this Offering plead, But for all Thy children, who Thy mercy need; Bless Thy faithful people, win Thy wandering sheep, Keep the souls departed who in Jesus sleep.

• [Rom 8:34] I Am Not Skilled To Understand

  I am not skilled to understand What God hath willed, what God hath planned; I only know at His right hand Is One Who is my Savior! I take Him at His word indeed; “Christ died for sinners”—this I read; For in my heart I find a need Of Him to be my Savior! That He should leave His place on high And come for sinful man to die, You count it strange? So once did I, Before I knew my Savior! And oh, that He fulfilled may see The travail of His soul in me, And with His work contented be, As I with my dear Savior! Yea, living, dying, let me bring My strength, my solace from this Spring; That He Who lives to be my King Once died to be my Savior!

• [Rom 8:34] John In Vision Saw The Day

  John in vision saw the day When the Judge will hasten down; Heav’n and earth shall flee away From the terror of His frown: Dead and living, small and great, Raised from the earth and sea; At His bar shall hear their fate, What will then become of me? Can I bear His awful looks? Shall I stand in judgment then, When I see the opened books, Written by th’ Almighty’s pen? If He to remembrance bring, And expose to public view, Every work and secret thing, Ah, my soul, what canst thou do? When the list shall be produced Of the talents I enjoyed; Means and mercies, how abused! Time and strength, how misemployed! Conscience then, compelled to read, Must allow the charge is true; Say, my soul, what canst thou plead In that hour, what wilt thou do? But the book of life I see, May my name be written there! Then from guilt and danger free, Glad I’ll meet Him in the air: That’s the book I hope to plead, ’Tis the Gospel opened wide; Lord, I am a wretch indeed! I have sinned, but Thou hast died. Now my soul knows what to do; Thus I shall with boldness stand, Numbered with the faithful few, Owned and saved, at Thy right hand: If Thou help a foolish worm To believe Thy promise now; Justice will at last confirm What Thy mercy wrought below.

• [Rom 8:34] O Show Me Not My Savior Dying

  O show me not my Savior dying, As on the cross He bled; Nor in the tomb, a captive lying, For He has left the dead. Then bid me not that form extended For my Redeemer own, Who, to the highest heavens ascended, In glory fills the throne. Weep not for Him at Calvary’s station, Weep only for thy sins; View where He lay with exultation, ’Tis there our hope begins. Yet stay not there, thy sorrows feeding, Amid the scenes He trod; Look up, and see Him interceding At the right hand of God. Still in the shameful cross I glory, Where His dear blood was spilt: His shameful cross, set forth before me, Hath canceled all my guilt. Yet what, ’mid conflict and temptation, Shall strength and honor give? He lives, the Captain of Salvation, Therefore His servants live. By death, He death’s dark king defeated, And overcame the grave: Rising, the triumph He completed; He lives, he reigns to save. Heaven’s happy myriads bow before Him: He comes, the Judge of men: These eyes shall see Him, and adore Him, Lord Jesus, own me then.
