Romans 2:3

Context
2:3 And do you think,¹ whoever you are, when you judge² those who practice such things and yet do them yourself,³ that you will escape God’s judgment?

Romans 8:13

Context
8:13 (for if you live according to the flesh, you will⁴ die),⁵ but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.

¹tn Grk “do you think this,” referring to the clause in v. 3b.

²tn Grk “O man, the one who judges.”

³tn Grk “and do them.” The other words are supplied to bring out the contrast implied in this clause.

⁵sn This remark is parenthetical to Paul’s argument.
