  O glorious hope of perfect love! It lifts me up to things above; It bears on eagles’ wings. It gives my ravished soul a taste, And makes me for some moments feast With Jesus’ priests and kings, With Jesus’ priests and kings. Rejoicing now in earnest hope, I stand, and from the mountain top See all the lands below. Rivers of milk and honey rise, And all the fruits of paradise In endless plenty grow, In endless plenty grow. A land of corn, and wine, and oil; Favored with God’s peculiar smile, With ev’ry blessing blest; There dwells the Lord our Righteousness, And keeps His own in perfect peace, And everlasting rest, And everlasting rest. Oh, that I might at once go up; No more on this side of Jordan stop, But now the land possess; This moment end my legal years, Sorrows and sins, and doubts and fears, A howling wilderness, A howling wilderness!

  O Thou, who hast at Thy command The hearts of all men in Thy hand, Our wayward, erring hearts incline To have no other will but Thine. Our wishes, our desires, control; Mold every purpose of the soul; O’er all may we victorious prove That stands between us and Thy love. Thrice blest will all our blessings be, When we can look through them to Thee; When each glad heart its tribute pays Of love and gratitude and praise. And while we to Thy glory live, May we to Thee all glory give, Until the final summons come, That calls Thy willing servants home.

• [Rom 15:8] We Limit Not The Truth Of God

  We limit not the truth of God To our poor reach of mind, By notions of our day and sect, Crude, partial, and confined. No, let a new and better hope Within our hearts be stirred: Refrain The Lord hath yet more light and truth To break forth from His Word. Darkling our great forefathers went The first steps of the way; ’Twas but the dawning yet to grow Into the perfect day.
