Romans 2:14

Context
2:14 For whenever the Gentiles, 1  who do not have the law, do by nature 2  the things required by the law, 3  these who do not have the law are a law to themselves.

Romans 11:24

Context
11:24 For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree?

Romans 16:18

Context
16:18 For these are the kind who do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By their smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds 4  of the naive.

1 sn Gentile is a NT term for a non-Jew.

2 tn Some (e.g. C. E. B. Cranfield, Romans [ICC], 1:135-37) take the phrase φύσει (fusei, “by nature”) to go with the preceding “do not have the law,” thus: “the Gentiles who do not have the law by nature,” that is, by virtue of not being born Jewish.

3 tn Grk “do by nature the things of the law.”

4 tn Grk “hearts.”
