Romans 1:27
Context1:27 and likewise the men also abandoned natural relations with women 1 and were inflamed in their passions 2 for one another. Men 3 committed shameless acts with men and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
Romans 8:29
Context8:29 because those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that his Son 4 would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 5
1 tn Grk “likewise so also the males abandoning the natural function of the female.”
2 tn Grk “burned with intense desire” (L&N 25.16).
3 tn Grk “another, men committing…and receiving,” continuing the description of their deeds. Because of the length and complexity of the Greek sentence, a new sentence was started here in the translation.
4 tn Grk “he”; the referent (God’s Son) has been specified in the translation for clarity.
5 tn Grk “brothers.” See note on the phrase “brothers and sisters” in 1:13.
