Revelation 12:7
-
[Rev 12:7] Where Shall My Wondering Soul Begin?
Where shall my wondering soul begin?
How shall I all to heaven aspire?
A slave redeemed from death and sin,
A brand plucked from eternal fire,
How shall I equal triumphs raise,
Or sing my great Deliverer’s praise?O how shall I the goodness tell,
Father, which Thou to me hast showed?
That I, a child of wrath and hell,
I should be called a child of God,
Should know, should feel my sins forgiven,
Blessed with this antepast of Heaven!And shall I slight my Father’s love?
Or basely fear His gifts to own?
Unmindful of His favors prove?
Shall I, the hallowed cross to shun,
Refuse His righteousness to impart,
By hiding it within my heart?No! though the ancient dragon rage,
And call forth all his host to war,
Though earth’s self-righteous sons engage
Them and their god alike I dare;
Jesus, the sinner’s friend, proclaim;
Jesus, to sinners still the same.Outcasts of men, to you I call,
Harlots, and publicans, and thieves!
He spreads His arms to embrace you all;
Sinners alone His grace receives;
No need of Him the righteous have;
He came the lost to seek and save.Come, O my guilty brethren, come,
Groaning beneath your load of sin,
His bleeding heart shall make you room,
His open side shall take you in;
He calls you now, invites you home;
Come, O my guilty brethren, come!For you the purple current flowed
In pardons from His wounded side,
Languished for you the eternal God,
For you the Prince of glory died:
Believe, and all your sin’s forgiven;
Only believe, and yours is Heaven!Play source: Cyberhymnal

[Rev 21:2] City Of God, How Broad And Far
City of God, how broad and far
Outspread thy walls sublime!
The true thy chartered freemen are
Of every age and clime.One holy Church, one army strong;
One steadfast, high intent;
One working band, one harvest song,
One King omnipotent.How purely hath thy speech come down
From man’s primeval youth!
How grandly hath thine empire grown
Of freedom, love and truth!How gleam thy watch fires through the night
With never fainting ray!
How rise thy towers, serene and bright,
To meet the dawning day!In vain the surge’s angry shock,
In vain the drifting sands;
Unharmed upon the eternal Rock
The eternal City stands.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rev 21:2] I Want To Be Ready
Refrain
I want to be ready,
I want to be ready,
I want to be ready,
To walk in Jerusalem just like John.John said the city was just foursquare,
Walk in Jerusalem just like John.
And he declared he’d meet me there,
Walk in Jerusalem just like John.Refrain
O John, O John, what do you say?
Walk in Jerusalem just like John.
That I’ll be there at the coming day,
Walk in Jerusalem just like John.Refrain
When Peter was preaching at Pentecost
Walk in Jerusalem just like John.
He was endowed with the Holy Ghost,
Walk in Jerusalem just like John.Refrain
If you get there before I do,
Walk in Jerusalem just like John.
Tell all my friend I’m a-comin’, too,
Walk in Jerusalem just like John.Refrain

[Rev 21:2] Jerusalem My Happy Home
Jerusalem, my happy home!
Name ever dear to me;
When shall my labors have an end,
In joy, and peace, and thee?When shall these eyes thy heaven built walls
And pearly gates behold?
Thy bulwarks, with salvation strong,
And streets of shining gold?There happier bowers than Eden’s bloom,
Nor sin nor sorrow know:
Blest seats, through rude and stormy scenes,
I onward press to you.Why should I shrink at pain and woe?
Or feel at death dismay?
I’ve Canaan’s goodly land in view,
And realms of endless day.Apostles, martyrs, prophets there
Around my Savior stand;
And soon my friends in Christ below
Will join the glorious band.Jerusalem, my happy home!
My soul still pants for thee;
Then shall my labors have an end,
When I thy joys shall see.O Christ do Thou my soul prepare
For that bright home of love;
That I may see Thee and adore,
With all Thy saints above.Jerusalem, my happy home,
When shall I come to thee?
When shall my sorrows have an end?
Thy joys when shall I see?O happy harbor of the saints!
O sweet and pleasant soil!
In thee no sorrow may be found,
No grief, no care, no toil.In thee no sickness may be seen,
No hurt, no ache, no sore;
There is no death nor ugly devil,
There is life for evermore.No dampish mist is seen in thee,
No cold nor darksome night;
There every soul shines as the sun;
For God himself gives light.There lust and lucre cannot dwell;
There envy bears no sway;
There is no hunger, heat, nor cold,
But pleasure every way.Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
God grant that I may see
Thine endless joy, and of the same
Partaker ay may be!Thy walls are made of precious stones,
Thy bulwarks diamonds square;
Thy gates are of right orient pearl;
Exceeding rich and rare;Thy turrets and thy pinnacles
With carbuncles do shine;
Thy very streets are paved with gold,
Surpassing clear and fine;Thy houses are of ivory,
Thy windows crystal clear;
Thy tiles are made of beaten gold—
O God that I were there!Within thy gates nothing doth come
That is not passing clean,
No spider’s web, no dirt, no dust,
No filth may there be seen.Aye, my sweet home, Jerusalem,
Would God I were in thee:
Would God my woes were at an end,
Thy joys that I might see.Thy saints are crowned with glory great;
They see God face to face;
They triumph still, they still rejoice
Most happy is their case.We that are here in banishment
Continually do mourn:
We sigh and sob, we weep and wail,
Perpetually we groan.Our sweet is mixed with bitter gall,
Our pleasure is but pain:
Our joys scarce last the looking on,
Our sorrows still remain.But there they live in such delight,
Such pleasure and such play,
As that to them a thousand years
Doth seem as yesterday.Thy vineyards and thy orchards are
Most beautiful and fair,
Full furnished with trees and fruits,
Most wonderful and rare.Thy gardens and thy gallant walks
Continually are green:
There grow such sweet and pleasant flowers
As nowhere else are seen.There is nectar and ambrosia made,
There is musk and civet sweet;
There many a fair and dainty drug
Is trodden under feet.There cinnamon, there sugar grows,
Here nard and balm abound.
What tongue can tell or heart conceive
The joys that there are found?Quite through the streets with silver sound
The flood of life doth flow,
Upon whose banks on every side
The wood of life doth grow.There trees for evermore bear fruit,
And evermore do spring;
There evermore the angels be,
And evermore do sing.There David stands with harp in hand
As master of the choir:
Ten thousand times that man were blessed
That might this music hear.Our Lady sings Magnificat
With tune surpassing sweet,
And all the virgins bear their part,
Sitting at her feet.There Magdalen hath left her moan,
And cheerfully doth sing
With blessèd saints, whose harmony
In every street doth ring.Jerusalem, my happy home,
Would God I were in thee!
Would God my woes were at an end
Thy joys that I might see!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rev 21:2] Jerusalem, Thou City Bright
Jerusalem, thou City bright
From Heav’n to earth descending,
How wondrously their holy light
Thy precious stones are blending.Refrain
O City fair, O City blest,
All joy to mortals bringing,
Who would not raise his voice in praise
And thy dear name be singing!O Gates of pearl,
O Streets of gold,
O River ever flowing
Where leads the Shepherd to the fold
The flock their Savior knowing.Refrain
Shine, holy Light, within our hearts
All evil shade dispelling,
That we ne’er from Thy way depart,
Which leads to that blest dwelling.Refrain

[Rev 21:2] Lo! What A Glorious Sight Appears
Lo! what a glorious sight appears
To our believing eyes!
The earth and sea are passed away,
And the old rolling skies.From the third heav’n, where God resides,
That holy, happy place,
The new Jerusalem comes down,
Adorned with shining grace.Attending angels shout for joy,
And the bright armies sing—
“Mortals, behold the sacred seat
Of your descending King.“The God of glory down to men
Removes His blest abode;
Men, the dear objects of His grace,
And he the loving God.“His own soft hand shall wipe the tears
From every weeping eye,
And pains, and groans, and griefs, and fears,
And death itself, shall die.”How long, dear Savior! O how long
Shall this bright hour delay?
Fly swifter round, ye wheels of time,
And bring the welcome day.Play source: Cyberhymnal -

[Rev 21:2] That Glorious Day Is Drawing Nigh
That glorious day is drawing nigh,
When Zion’s light shall come;
She shall arise and shine on high,
Bright as the morning sun;
The north and south their sons resign,
And earth’s foundations bend;
Clothed as a bride, Jerusalem
All glorious shall descend.The King Who wears the splendid crown,
The azure’s flaming bow;
The holy city shall bring down,
To bless His church below;
When Zion’s bleeding, conqu’ring King,
Shall sin and death destroy,
The morning stars shall join to sing,
And Zion shout for joy.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rev 21:2] When The Toils Of Life Are Over
When the toils of life are over,
And we lay our armor down,
And we bid farewell to earth with all its cares,
We shall meet and greet our loved ones,
And our Christ we then shall crown,
In the new Jerusalem.Refrain
There’ll be singing, there’ll be shouting
When the saints come marching home,
In Jerusalem, in Jerusalem,
Waving palms with loud hosannas
As the King shall take His throne,
In the new Jerusalem.Though the way is sometimes lonely,
He will hold me with His hand,
Through the testings and the trials I must go.
But I’ll trust and gladly follow,
For sometime I’ll understand,
In the new Jerusalem.Refrain
When the last goodbye is spoken
And the tear stains wiped away,
And our eyes shall catch a glimpse of glory fair,
Then with bounding hearts we’ll meet Him
Who hath washed our sins away,
In the new Jerusalem.Refrain
When we join the ransomed army
In the summer land above,
And the face of our dear Savior we behold,
We will sing and shout forever,
And we’ll grow in perfect love,
In the new Jerusalem.Refrain

Revelation 21:10
-
[Rev 21:10] Hail The Glorious Golden City
Hail the glorious golden city,
Pictured by the seers of old!
Everlasting light shines o’er it,
Wondrous tales of it are told:
Only righteous men and women
Dwell within its gleaming wall;
Wrong is banished from its borders,
Justice reigns supreme o’er all.We are builders of that city,
All our joys and all our groans
Help to rear its shining ramparts;
All our lives are building stones:
Whether humble or exalted,
All are called to task divine;
All must aid alike to carry
Forward one sublime design.And the work that we have builded,
Oft with bleeding hands and tears,
Oft in error, oft in anguish,
Will not perish with our years:
It will live and shine transfigured,
In the final reign of right;
It will pass into the splendors
Of the city of the light.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rev 21:10] O Holy City, Seen Of John
O holy city, seen of John,
Where Christ the Lamb, doth reign,
Within whose foursquare walls shall come
No night, nor need, nor pain,
And where the tears are wiped from eyes
That shall not weep again.Hark, how from men whose lives are held
More cheap than merchandise,
From women struggling sore for bread,
From little children’s cries,
There swells the sobbing human plaint
That bids thy walls arise.O shame to us who rest content
While lust and greed for gain
In street and shop and tenement
Wring gold from human pain,
And bitter lips in blind despair
Cry “Christ hath died in vain!”Give us, O God, the strength to build
The city that hath stood
Too long a dream, whose laws are love,
Whose crown is servanthood,
And where the sun that shineth is
God’s grace for human good.Already in the mind of God
That city riseth fair:
Lo, how its splendor challenges
The souls that greatly dare;
Yea, bids us seize the whole of life
And build its glory there.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rev 21:10] Waiting And Watching For Me
When my final farewell to the world I have said,
[originally, When mysterious whispers are floating about]
And gladly lie down to my rest;
When softly the watchers shall say, “He is dead,”
And fold my pale hands o’er my breast;
And when, with my glorified vision at last
The walls of “That City” I see,
Will any one then at the beautiful gate,
Be waiting and watching for me?
Will any one then at the beautiful gate,
Be waiting and watching for me?Refrain
Be waiting and watching,
Be waiting and watching for me?
Be waiting and watching,
Be waiting and watching for me?There are little ones glancing about in my path,
In want of a friend and a guide;
There are dear little eyes looking up into mine,
Whose tears might be easily dried.
But Jesus may beckon the children away
In the midst of their grief and their glee?
Will any of them, at the beautiful gate,
Be waiting and watching for me?
Will any of them, at the beautiful gate,
Be waiting and watching for me?Refrain
There are old and forsaken who linger awhile
In homes which their dearest have left;
And a few gentle words or an action of love
May cheer their sad spirits bereft.
But the Reaper is near to the long standing corn,
The weary will soon be set free?
Will any of them, at the beautiful gate,
Be waiting and watching for me?
Will any of them, at the beautiful gate,
Be waiting and watching for me?Refrain
Oh, should I be brought there by the bountiful grace
Of Him who delights to forgive,
Though I bless not the weary about in my path,
Pray only for self while I live,
Methinks I should mourn o’er my sinful neglect,
If sorrow in Heaven can be,
Should no one I love, at the beautiful gate,
Be waiting and watching for me!
Should no one I love, at the beautiful gate,
Be waiting and watching for me!Refrain

[Rev 22:1] Beautiful Waters Of Eden
Murmuring softly, caroling gently,
Music enchanting cometh to me;
Over the waters, beautiful waters,
Where in the homeland soon I shall be.
How like a vision tenderly stealing,
Over my spirit, weary, oppressed;
Drawing me upward, urging me forward,
Telling of sunshine, rapture and rest.Refrain
Murmuring softly, caroling gently,
Music enchanting cometh to me;
Over the waters, beautiful waters,
Where in the homeland soon I shall be.Silently musing, blissfully gazing
Into the future teeming with light,
Sweetly the echoes floating around me,
Whisper of Eden, lovely and bright.
Eden, where summer, fadeless, eternal,
Scatters its roses, blooming for aye;
There is no parting, there is no weeping,
Sorrow and sighing vanish away.Refrain
There our Redeemer, loving Redeemer,
Gathers the faithful safe on His breast,
Out of the changing into the changeless,
Out of the toiling into the rest.
Welcome the moment when to His presence,
Joyful my spirit flies like a bird;
O what a morrow, O what a meeting,
Eye hath not seen it, ear hath not heard.Refrain

[Rev 22:1] By And By (rexford)
By and by we shall know Jesus, by and by, oh, by and by;

And He smiles upon us, saying, “By and by, oh, by and by,
Cares and trials you’ll be laying with your earthly garments by.”Refrain
Oh by and by, oh sing it softly,
Thinking not of earthly care,
But the by and by of heaven
Waiting for us over there.By and by we shall be standing, by and by, oh, by and by,
At fair heaven’s shining landing, while the river murmurs by,
And our friends will round us gather, by and by, oh, by and by,
Saying “Welcome, for the Father loves to have His children nigh.”Refrain
By and by! we say it gently, looking on our peaceful dead,
And we do not think of earth life, but of heaven’s sweet life instead.

Blessèd river, let me ever

Drink of only thee.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rev 22:1] Living Stream, As Crystal Clear, A
A living stream, as crystal clear,
Welling from out the throne,
Of God and of the Lamb on high,
The Lord to man hath shown.This stream doth water Paradise,
It makes the angels sing:
One precious drop within the heart
Is of all joy the spring:Joy past all speech, of glory full,
But stored where none may know,
As manna hid in dewy heaven,
As pearls in ocean low.Eye hath not seen, nor ear hath heard,
Nor to man’s heart hath come
What for those loving Thee in truth
Thou hast in love’s own home.But by His Spirit He to us
The secret doth reveal:
Faith sees and hears: but O for wings
That we might taste, and feel;Wings like a dove to waft us on
High o’er the flood of sin!
Lord of the Ark, put forth Thine hand,
And take Thy wanderers in.O praise the Father, praise the Son,
The Lamb for sinners given,
And Holy Ghost, through Whom alone
Our hearts are raised to Heav’n.Play source: Cyberhymnal -

There is a pure and tranquil wave,

Whose waters gladden as they lave
The bright and heav’nly dwelling place.In living streams behold that tide,
Thro’ Christ, the Rock, profusely burst,
And in His Word behold supplied,
The fount for which our spirits thirst.The pilgrim, faint, who seems to sink
Beneath the sultry sky of time,
May here repose and freely drink
The waters of that better clime.And every soul may here partake
The blessings of the fount above;
