  O sailor on a treacherous sea, Tho’ rent thy every sail may be, Tho’ all thy earthly hopes are past, And thou art clinging to the mast. Refrain Hold fast a moment more, Behold a light upon the shore; Tho’ scarce a beam thine eye can see, Thy Savior comes to rescue thee. Hold fast, be strong and banish fear, Look up, behold the harbor near; A cry of joy from yonder strand, Where loved ones wait to clasp thy hand. Refrain Tho’ surges roll, and waves run high, The Gospel lifeboat still is nigh; It cannot from its course be driv’n, ’Tis sure to reach the port of Heav’n. Refrain Oh, sailor! lift again thine eyes, Behold with joy and glad surprise A glorious morn, that dawns for thee, Far, far beyond a stormy sea. Refrain Oh, land of rest from toil and care, Who would not long to enter there, Where every throb of pain shall cease, And every sigh be hushed to peace! Refrain

  Oh, spirit, o’erwhelmed by thy failures and fears, Look up to thy Lord, though with trembling and tears; Weak Faith, to thy call seem the heav’ns only dumb? To thee is the message, “Hold fast till I come.” Refrain Hold fast till I come, hold fast till I come, A bright crown awaits thee; Hold fast till I come. Hold fast when the world would allure thee to sin; Hold fast when the tempter assails from within; In sunshine or sadness, in gain or in loss, To falter were madness; oh, cling to the cross.   Ho, my comrades! see the signal waving in the sky! Reinforcements now appearing, victory is nigh. Refrain “Hold the fort, for I am coming,” Jesus signals still; Wave the answer back to Heaven, “By Thy grace we will.” See the mighty host advancing, Satan leading on; Mighty ones around us falling, courage almost gone! Revelation 3:8

• [Rev 3:8] Today Thy Mercy Calls Me

  Today Thy mercy calls me to wash away my sin; However great my trespass, whate’er I may have been; However long from mercy I may have turned away, Thy blood, O Christ, can cleanse me, and make me white today. Today Thy gate is open, and all who enter in Shall find a Father’s welcome, and pardon for their sin; The past shall be forgotten, a present joy be given; A future grace be promised, a glorious crown in Heav’n. Today the Father calls me, the Holy Spirit waits, The blessèd angels gather around the heav’nly gates; No question will be asked me, how often I have come; Although I oft have wandered, it is my Father’s home. O all embracing mercy, thou ever open door, What shall I do without thee when heart and eyes run o’er? When all things seem against me, to drive me to despair, I know one gate is open, one ear will hear my prayer.
