Revelation 12:8

Context
12:8 But 1  the dragon was not strong enough to prevail, 2  so there was no longer any place left 3  in heaven for him and his angels. 4

Revelation 22:3

Context
22:3 And there will no longer be any curse, 5  and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in the city. 6  His 7  servants 8  will worship 9  him,

1 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “but” to indicate the implied contrast.

2 tn The words “to prevail” are not in the Greek text, but are implied.

3 tn Grk “found.”

4 tn Grk “for them”; the referent (the dragon and his angels, v. 7) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

5 tn Or “be anything accursed” (L&N 33.474).

6 tn Grk “in it”; the referent (the city, the new Jerusalem) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

7 tn Grk “city, and his.” Although this is a continuation of the previous sentence in Greek, a new sentence was started here in the translation because of the introduction of the Lamb’s followers.

8 tn See the note on the word “servants” in 1:1.

9 tn Or “will serve.”
