Psalms 78:39

78:39 He remembered 1  that they were made of flesh,

and were like a wind that blows past and does not return. 2 

Psalms 146:4

Context

146:4 Their life’s breath departs, they return to the ground;

on that day their plans die. 3 

1 tn The prefixed verbal form with vav (ו) consecutive signals a return to the narrative.

2 tn Heb “and he remembered that they [were] flesh, a wind [that] goes and does not return.”

3 tn Heb “his spirit goes out, it returns to his ground; in that day his plans die.” The singular refers to the representative man mentioned in v. 3b.
