Psalms 74:7

Context

74:7 They set your sanctuary on fire;

they desecrate your dwelling place by knocking it to the ground. 1 

Psalms 104:14

Context

104:14 He provides grass 2  for the cattle,

and crops for people to cultivate, 3 

so they can produce food from the ground, 4 

Psalms 104:30

Context

104:30 When you send your life-giving breath, they are created,

and you replenish the surface of the ground.

Psalms 146:4

Context

146:4 Their life’s breath departs, they return to the ground;

on that day their plans die. 5 

1 tn Heb “to the ground they desecrate the dwelling place of your name.”

2 tn Heb “causes the grass to sprout up.”

3 tn Heb “for the service of man” (see Gen 2:5).

4 tn Heb “to cause food to come out from the earth.”

5 tn Heb “his spirit goes out, it returns to his ground; in that day his plans die.” The singular refers to the representative man mentioned in v. 3b.
