• [Psa 72:4] Clouds Of Judgment Gather, The

  The clouds of judgment gather, The time is growing late; Be sober and be watchful; Our Judge is at the gate: The Judge Who comes in mercy, The Judge Who comes in might To put an end to evil And diadem the right. Arise, O true disciples, Let wrong give way to right, And penitential shadow To Jesus’ blessèd light: The light that has no evening, That knows no moon or sun, The light so new and golden, The light that is but one. The home of fadeless splendor, Of blooms that bear no thorn, Where they shall dwell as children Who here as exiles mourn; The peace of all the faithful, The calm of all the blest, Inviolate, unfading, Divinest, sweetest, best. Oh, happy, holy portion, Relief for all distressed, True vision of true beauty, Refreshment for the blest! Strive now to win that glory; Toil now to gain that light; Send hope ahead to grasp it, Till hope be lost in sight.

  Judge eternal, throned in splendor, Lord of lords and King of kings, With Thy living fire of judgment Purge this land of bitter things; Solace all its wide dominion With the healing of Thy wings. Still the weary folk are pining For the hour that brings release; And the city’s crowded clangor Cries aloud for sin to cease. And the homesteads and the woodlands Plead in silence for their peace. Crown, O God, Thine own endeavor; Cleave our darkness with Thy sword; Feed the faint and hungry heathen With the richness of Thy Word; Cleanse the body of this nation Through the Gospel of the Lord.

• [Psa 103:13] Like As A Father

  When silent falls the gushing tear, O’er cheeks grown pale with care; And on the heart a cross is laid That seems too hard to bear, Remember what our Lord has said, And trust, in weal or woe, His holy Word, that changeth not, Though uttered years ago. Refrain “Like as a father pitieth His children, So the Lord pitieth them that fear Him, So the Lord pitieth them that fear Him.” When one by one our treasured hopes Like autumn leaves decay, And they who made our life most dear Are borne from us away, O look beyond the veil of time, Where springs of comfort flow, And trust His Word, that changeth not, Though uttered years ago. Refrain The clouds that bode the darkest hour The purest light may bring; The heart that mourns its broken chords The sweetest song may sing; Though oft a rugged path we tread, Yet this one thing we know, God’s holy Word can never change, Though uttered years ago.   The tender love a father has For all his children dear, Such love the Lord bestows on them Who worship Him in fear. The Lord remembers we are dust, And all our frailty knows; Man’s days are like the tender grass, And as the flower he grows. The flower is withered by the wind That smites with blighting breath; So man is quickly swept away Before the blast of death. Unchanging is the love of God, From age to age the same, Displayed to all who do His will And reverence His Name. Those who His gracious cov’nant keep The Lord will ever bless; Their children’s children shall rejoice To see His righteousness.
