1 tn Heb “and he conceives harm and gives birth to a lie.”
sn Pregnant with wickedness…gives birth to harmful lies. The psalmist metaphorically pictures the typical sinner as a pregnant woman, who is ready to give birth to wicked, destructive schemes and actions.
2 tn Heb “destruction your tongue devises.”
3 tn Heb “like a sharpened razor, doer of deceit.” The masculine participle עָשָׂה (’asah) is understood as a substantival vocative, addressed to the powerful man.
4 tn Heb “and he said.”
5 tn Heb “if not,” that is, “[and would have] if [Moses] had not.”
6 tn Heb “stood in the gap before him.”
7 tn Heb “to turn back his anger from destroying.”
