tn Heb “in their tents may there not be one who dwells.”
sn In Acts 1:20 Peter applies the language of this verse to Judas’ experience. By changing the pronouns from plural to singular, he is able to apply the ancient curse, pronounced against the psalmist’s enemies, to Judas in particular.
sn Arrogance is their necklace. The metaphor suggests that their arrogance is something the wicked “wear” proudly. It draws attention to them, just as a beautiful necklace does to its owner.
tn Heb “a garment of violence covers them.” The metaphor suggests that violence is habitual for the wicked. They “wear” it like clothing; when one looks at them, violence is what one sees.
tn Heb “his.” The singular pronominal suffix is collective, referring back to God’s “people” (v. 62).
tn Heb “his.” The singular pronominal suffix is collective, referring back to God’s “people” (v. 62).
tn Heb “were not praised,” that is, in wedding songs. The young men died in masses, leaving no husbands for the young women.
tn Heb “they were subdued under their hand.”
