  O God, Thy power is wonderful, Thy glory passing bright; Thy wisdom, with its deep on deep, A rapture to the sight. I see Thee in the eternal years In glory all alone, Ere round Thine uncreated fires Created light had shone. I see Thee walk in Eden’s shade, I see Thee all through time; Thy patience and compassion seem New attributes sublime. I see Thee when the doom is o’er, And outworn time is done, Still, still incomprehensible, O God, yet not alone. Angelic spirits, countless souls, Of Thee have drunk their fill; And to eternity will drink Thy joy and glory still. O little heart of mine! shall pain Or sorrow make thee moan, When all this God is all for thee, A Father all thine own?

  Savior, more than life to me, I am clinging, clinging, close to Thee; Let Thy precious blood applied, Keep me ever, ever near Thy side. Refrain Every day, every hour, Let me feel Thy cleansing power; May Thy tender love to me Bind me closer, closer, Lord to Thee. Through this changing world below, Lead me gently, gently as I go; Trusting Thee, I cannot stray, I can never, never lose my way. • [Psa 63:4] Great God, Indulge My Humble Claim

  Great God, indulge my humble claim, Thou art my hope, my joy, my rest; The glories that compose Thy Name Stand all engaged to make me blest. Thou great and good, thou just and wise, Thou art my Father and my God; And I am Thine by sacred ties; Thy son, Thy servant, bought with blood. With heart, and eyes, and lifted hands, For Thee I long, to Thee I look, As travelers in thirsty lands Pant for the cooling water brook. With early feet I love t’ appear Among Thy saints, and seek Thy face; Oft have I seen Thy glory there, And felt the power of sovereign grace. Not fruits nor wines that tempt our taste, Nor all the joys our senses know, Could make me so divinely blest, Or raise my cheerful passions so. My life itself without Thy love No taste of pleasure could afford; ’Twould but a tiresome burden prove, If I were banished from the Lord. Amidst the wakeful hours of night, When busy cares afflict my head, One thought of Thee gives new delight, And adds refreshment to my bed. I’ll lift my hands, I’ll raise my voice, While I have breath to pray or praise; This work shall make my heart rejoice, And spend the remnant of my days.

• [Psa 63:5] Jesus Satisfies

  When Jesus no longer stands preciously nigh, When sorrows like sea billows roll; I look to the Rock that is higher than I, And peace, wondrous peace floods my soul. Refrain Jesus satisfies, Jesus satisfies; Clouds at His presence roll away; Jesus satisfies, Jesus satisfies; His glory turns my darkness into day. The sun may be shining on fields bright and gay, With springtime perfumes in the breeze; Yet, life without Jesus is winter in May, Without Him no prospect can please. Refrain If living like Paul all victorious and free, Tho’ beaten while multitudes stare; Tho’ put behind bars ’twould be heaven to me, For Jesus will dwell with me there. Refrain If faithful in standing for what I believe Brings scoffing and fire, I can dare To laugh in the furnace where I am to burn, For Jesus will dwell with me there. Refrain
