• [Psa 6:9] Receive, O Lord, In Heaven Above

  Receive, O Lord, in Heaven above Our prayers and supplications pure; Give us a heart all full of love And steady courage to endure. Thy holy Name our mouths confess, Our tongues are harps to praise Thy grace; Forgive our sins and wickedness, Who in this vigil seek Thy face. Let not our song become a sigh, A wail of anguish and despair; In lovingkindness, Lord most high, Receive tonight our evening prayer. O raise us in that day, that we May sing, where all Thy saints adore, Praise to Thy Father, and to Thee, And to Thy Spirit, evermore.

• [Psa 27:7] O Lord, Give Ear Unto My Voice

  O Lord, give ear unto my voice, when I do cry to Thee; Upon me also mercy have, and do Thou answer me. When Thou didst say, “Seek ye My face,” then unto Thee reply Thus did my heart, above all things Thy face, Lord, seek will I. Far from me hide not Thou Thy face; put not away from Thee Thy servant in Thy wrath: Thou hast a helper been to me. O God of my salvation, leave me not, nor forsake: Though me my parents both should leave, the Lord will me up take. O Lord, instruct me in Thy way, to me a leader be In a plain path, because of those that hatred bear to me. Give me not to mine enemies’ will; for witnesses that lie Against me risen are, and such as breathe out cruelty. I fainted had, unless that I believèd had to see The Lord’s own goodness in the land of them that living be. Wait on the Lord, and be thou strong, and He shall strength afford Unto thine heart; yea, do thou wait, I say, upon the Lord.

  O Lord, give heed unto our plea, O Spirit, grant Thy graces, That we who put our trust in Thee May rightly sing Thy praises. Thy Word, O Christ, unto us give, That grace and pow’r we may receive To follow Thee, our Master. Touch Thou the shepherd’s lips, O Lord, That in this blessèd hour He may proclaim Thy sacred Word With unction and with power. What Thou wouldst have Thy servant say, Put Thou into his heart, we pray, With grace and strength to say it. Let heart and ear be opened wide Unto Thy Word and pleading; Our minds, O Holy Spirit, guide By Thine own light and leading. The law of Christ we would fulfill, And walk according to His will, His Word our rule of living.

Psalms 116:1

• [Psa 116:1] I Love The Lord, For My Request

  I love the Lord, for my request And humble plea He makes His care; In Him through life my faith shall rest, For He both hears and answers prayer. Brought nigh to death and full of grief, The Lord’s salvation I besought; He heard my cry, and sent relief, My soul from depths of woe He brought. Most kind and righteous is the Lord, Our God is merciful indeed; Delighting ever to afford His help to me in time of need. Return unto thy rest, my soul, The Lord has richly dealt with thee, Delivered thee from death’s control, From sin and sorrow set thee free. Since He has freed mine eyes from tears And kept my feet from evil ways, Redeemed from life’s distressing fears, With Him I walk, and Him I praise. In my affliction and my pain, When fears alarmed and hopes deceived, I found all human helpers vain, But in the Lord my soul believed.

  I love the Lord; He heard my cries, And pitied every groan; Long as I live, when troubles rise, I’ll hasten to His throne. I love the Lord; He bowed His ear, And chased my griefs away; O let my heart no more despair, While I have breath to pray! My flesh declined, my spirits fell, And I drew near the dead; While inward pangs and fears of hell Perplexed my wakeful head. “My God,” I cried, “Thy servant save, Thou ever good and just; Thy power can rescue from the grave, Thy power is all my trust.” The Lord beheld me sore distressed, He bid my pains remove; Return, my soul, to God thy rest, For thou hast known His love. My God hath saved my soul from death, And dried my falling tears; Now to His praise I’ll spend my breath, And my remaining years.

  I Love the Lord; He heard my voice, And owned my humble prayer: He makes my broken heart rejoice: He makes my soul His care. When hosts of foes beset me round, And threatened to destroy, In Him the wished relief I found; My heart revived with joy. The pains of hell, and fears of death, Encompassed me around; To Him I cried with faltering breath, And full deliverance found. • [Psa 119:170] Lord Jesus Christ, My Savior Blest

  Lord Jesus Christ, my Savior blest, My Hope and my Salvation! I trust in Thee; deliver me from misery; Thy Word’s my consolation. As Thou dost will, lead Thou me still That I may truly serve Thee, My God, I pray, teach me Thy way to my last day In Thy true faith preserve me. Most heartily I trust in Thee; Thy mercy fails me never. Dear Lord, abide; my Helper tried, Thou Crucified, From evil keep me ever. Now henceforth must I put my trust In Thee, O dearest Savior. Thy comfort choice, Thy Word and voice, my heart rejoice Despite my ill behavior. When sorrows rise, my refuge lies In Thy compassion tender. Within Thine arm can naught alarm; keep me from harm, Be Thou my strong Defender. I have Thy Word, Christ Jesus, Lord; Thou never wilt forsake me. This will I plead in time of need. Oh, help with speed When troubles overtake me! Grant, Lord, I pray, Thy grace each day That I, Thy Law revering, May live with Thee and happy be eternally Before Thy throne appearing.
