Psalms 59:5

Context

59:5 You, O Lord God, the invincible warrior,¹ the God of Israel,

rouse yourself and punish² all the nations!

Have no mercy on any treacherous evildoers! (Selah)

Psalms 59:8

Context

59:8 But you, O Lord, laugh in disgust at them;³

you taunt⁴ all the nations.

¹tn Heb “Lord, God, Hosts.” One expects the construct form אֱלֹהֵי (’elohey) before צְבָאוֹת (tsÿva’ot, “hosts”). See Ps 89:9, but יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים (yÿhvah ’elohim) precedes צְבָאוֹת (tsÿva’ot) in Pss 80:4, 19; 84:8 as well.

²tn Heb “wake up to punish” (see Pss 35:23; 44:23).

³sn Laugh in disgust. See Pss 2:4; 37:13.

⁴tn Or “scoff at”; or “deride”; or “mock” (see Ps 2:4).

start	search for verses that contains words that start with the search words	"fis" will search for verses that contains words start with "fis", the result will be "fish", "fishing", "fisherman", etc
similar	search for verses that contains words that similar in spelling to the search words.	"fish" will search verses that contain words which has similar spelling with fish. The result: "dish",etc
displaying	set the max displaying in one page.	"20" will set displaying max to 20 per page
range	set searching range	"All Bible", "Old Testament", "New Testament"
