• [Psa 19:7] Jehovah’s Perfect Law

  Jehovah’s perfect law Restores the soul again; His testimony sure Gives wisdom unto men; The precepts of the Lord are right, And fill the heart with great delight. The Lord’s commands are pure, They light and joy restore; Jehovah’s fear is clean, Enduring evermore; His statutes, let the world confess, Are wholly truth and righteousness. They are to be desired Above the finest gold; Than honey from the comb More sweetness far they hold; With warnings they Thy servant guard, In keeping them is great reward. His errors who can know? Cleanse me from hidden stain; Keep me from willful sins, Nor let them o’er me reign; And then I upright shall appear And be from great transgressions clear. When Thou dost search my life, May all my thoughts within And all the words I speak Thy full approval win. O Lord, Thou art a Rock to me, And my Redeemer Thou shalt be.

• [Psa 19:7] O Holy Spirit, Grant Us Grace

  O Holy Spirit, grant us grace That we our Lord and Savior In faith and fervent love embrace And truly serve Him ever, So that when death is drawing nigh, We to His open wounds may fly And find in them salvation. Help us that we Thy saving Word In faithful hearts may treasure; Let e’er that Bread of Life afford New grace in richest measure. Yea, let us die to every sin, For Heav’n create us new within That fruits of faith may flourish. And when our earthly race is run, Death’s bitter hour impending, Then may Thy work in us begun Continue until life’s ending. Until we gladly may commend Our souls into our Savior’s hand To rest in peace eternal.

  Thy Word, O Lord, like gentle dews, Falls soft on hearts that pine; Lord, to Thy garden ne’er refuse This heavenly balm of Thine. Watered by Thee, let every tree Then blossom to Thy praise, By grace of Thine bear fruit divine Through all the coming days. Thy Word is like a flaming sword, A wedge that cleaveth stone; Keen as a fire, so burns Thy Word, And pierceth flesh and bone; Let it go forth o’er all the earth To cleanse our hearts within, To show Thy power in Satan’s hour, And break the night of sin. Thy Word, a wondrous guiding star, On pilgrim hearts doth rise, Leads those to God who dwell afar, And makes the simple wise. Let not its light e’er sink in night, But in each spirit shine, That none may miss Heaven’s final bliss, Led by Thy light divine.

  God saved His people from distress And led them through the wilderness; Then mountains trembled in their place, The heav’ns were bowed before His face. With copious showers Thou didst assuage The thirsting of Thy heritage; Thy congregation dwelt secure; Thou, God, art gracious to the poor. With glorious pomp our King and God Has entered into His abode With sacred minstrelsy and song, While maidens with their timbrels throng. Assemble ye before His face, All ye that spring from Israel’s race; Ye chosen tribes with one accord Come ye, and bless your God, the Lord.

  Try us, O God, and search the ground Of every sinful heart; Whate’er of sin in us is found, O bid it all depart. If to the right or left we stray, Leave us not comfortless; But guide our feet into the way Of everlasting peace. Help us to help each other, Lord, Each other’s cross to bear; Let each his friendly aid afford, And feel his brother’s care. Help us to build each other up, Our little stock improve; Increase our faith, confirm our hope, And perfect us in love. Up unto Thee, our living Head, Let us in all things grow, Till Thou hast made us free indeed, And spotless here below. Then, when the mighty work is wrought, Receive Thy ready bride: Give us in Heaven a happy lot With all the sanctified.

  Take the wings of the morning; speed quickly thy flight To Jesus, thy Savior, thy hope and thy light; The fount of His mercy is open for thee, Go wash and be cleaned in its waters so free. Refrain Take the wings of the morning and fly, Ere the darkness shall cover the sky; Fly away from the shadows that over thee roll, And find in thy Savior the home of thy soul.   Thou Lord of hosts, whose guiding hand Has brought us here before Thy face, Our spirits wait for Thy command, Our silent hearts implore Thy peace. Those spirits lay their noblest powers As offerings on Thy holy shrine. Thine was the strength that nourished ours; The soldiers of the cross are Thine. While watching on our arms at night We saw Thine angels around us move. We heard Thy call, we felt Thy light, And followed, trusting, to Thy love. Send us wherever Thou wilt, O Lord! Through rugged toil and wearying fight. Thy conquering love shall be our sword, And faith in Thee our truest might. Send down Thy constant aid, we pray. Be Thy pure angels with us still. Thy truth, be that our firmest stay; Our only rest, to do Thy will.
