tn Following the imperatives of v. 3 the prefixed verbal forms with vav (ו) in v. 4 indicate result. Faith and obedience (v. 3) will bring divine blessing (v. 4).

tn Or “and he will give you what you desire most.” Heb “and he will grant to you the requests of your heart.”

tn The imperfects in this verse emphasize the attitude the psalmist maintains toward God’s law. Another option is to translate with the future tense, “I will find delight…I will not forget.”

tn Heb “your word.” Many medieval Hebrew mss as well as the LXX read the plural here.

tn Heb “men of my counsel.” That is, God’s rules are like advisers to the psalmist, for they teach him how to live in a godly manner that refutes the accusations of his enemies.

 tn Or “make me walk.”

tn Heb “for in it I delight.”

tn Heb “their heart is insensitive like fat.”

tn Heb “and may your compassion come to me.”

 tn Heb “find.”

 tn Heb “sons.”

sn The Lord is the king here, as the parallelism in the previous line (“their creator”) indicates.

tn Heb “he honors the oppressed [with] deliverance.”
