Psalms 36:6

• [Psa 36:6] High In The Heavens, Eternal God

  High in the heav’ns, eternal God, Thy goodness in full glory shines; Thy truth shall break through every cloud That veils and darkens Thy designs. Forever firm Thy justice stands, As mountains their foundations keep; Wise are the wonders of Thy hands; Thy judgments are a mighty deep. Thy providence is kind and large Both man and beast Thy bounty share; The whole creation is Thy charge, But saints are Thy peculiar care. My God, how excellent Thy grace, Whence all our hope and comfort spring! The sons of Adam in distress Fly to the shadow of Thy wing. From the provisions of Thy house We shall be fed with sweet repast; There mercy like a river flows, And brings salvation to our taste. Life, like a fountain, rich and free, Springs from the presence of the Lord; And in Thy light our souls shall see The glories promised in Thy Word.

Psalms 72:1

• [Psa 72:1] Great God, Whose Universal Sway

  Great God, whose universal sway The known and unknown worlds obey, Now give the kingdom to Thy Son, Extend His power, exalt His throne. Thy scepter well becomes His hands, All Heav’n submits to His commands; His justice shall avenge the poor, And pride and rage prevail no more. With power He vindicates the just, And treads th’oppressor in the dust; His worship and His fear shall last, Till hours, and years, and time be past. As rain on meadows newly mown, So shall He send His influence down; His grace on fainting souls distils, Like heav’nly dew on thirsty hills. The heathen lands that lie beneath The shades of overspreading death, Revive at His first dawning light, And deserts blossom at the sight. The saints shall flourish in His days, Dressed in the robes of joy and praise Peace, like a river from His throne, Shall flow to nations yet unknown.

• [Psa 72:1] Hail To The Lord’s Anointed

  Hail to the Lord’s anointed, great David’s greater Son! Hail in the time appointed, His reign on earth begun! He comes to break oppression, to set the captive free; To take away transgression and rule in equity. He comes in succor speedy to those who suffer wrong; To help the poor and needy, and bid the weak be strong; To give them songs for sighing, their darkness turn to light, Whose souls, condemned and dying, were precious in His sight. By such shall He be fearèd while sun and moon endure; Beloved, obeyed, reverèd; for He shall judge the poor Through changing generations, with justice, mercy, truth, While stars maintain their stations, or moons renew their youth. He shall come down like showers upon the fruitful earth; Love, joy, and hope, like flowers, spring in His path to birth. Before Him, on the mountains, shall peace, the herald, go, And righteousness, in fountains, from hill to valley flow. Arabia’s desert ranger to Him shall bow the knee; The Ethiopian stranger His glory come to see; With offerings of devotion ships from the isles shall meet, To pour the wealth of oceans in tribute at His feet. Kings shall fall down before Him, and gold and incense bring; All nations shall adore Him, His praise all people sing; For He shall have dominion o’er river, sea and shore, Far as the eagle’s pinion or dove’s light wing can soar. For Him shall prayer unceasing and daily vows ascend; His kingdom still increasing, a kingdom without end: The mountain dews shall nourish a seed in weakness sown, Whose fruit shall spread and flourish and shake like Lebanon. O’er every foe victorious, He on His throne shall rest; From age to age more glorious, all blessing and all blest. The tide of time shall never His covenant remove; His Name shall stand forever, His Name to us is Love.

• [Psa 72:1] O God, To Thine Anointed King

  O God, to Thine anointed King Give truth and righteousness; Thy people He will justly judge And give the poor redress. Then every fruitful mountainside Shall yield its rich increase, And righteousness in all the land Shall bear the fruit of peace. The poor man’s cause He will maintain, The needy He will bless, And He will break the strength of those Who would the poor oppress. So men shall fear Thee while the sun In daily splendor glows, And through all ages, while the moon On earth its light bestows. Like rain upon the newborn grass, That falls refreshingly, Like gentle showers that cheer the earth, So shall His coming be. The righteous in His glorious day Shall flourish and increase, The earth, until the moon shall fade, Shall have abundant peace.

Psalms 144:1

• [Psa 144:1] O God, The Strength Of Those Who War

  O God, the Strength of those who war, The Hope of those who wait, Be with our sons gone forth to fight, And those who keep the gate. Give to our hosts in battle’s hour Firm hearts and courage high, Thy comfort give to those who fall, Thy peace to those who die. Breathe on our land the spirit calm Which faith in right bestows, And in the hours of dark suspense A faith which stronger grows. In Thee alone we place our hope, Thou Keeper of the just, And Thou, through fight and fire and fears Wilt justify our trust. Thy ways are wonderful, O God, Who makest wars to cease: O let this be the final war That ushers in Thy peace.
