  Dare to be brave, dare to be true; Strive for the right, for the Lord is with you; Fight with sin bravely, fight and be strong; Christ is your Captain; fear only what’s wrong. Refrain Fight then, good soldiers, fight and be brave; Christ is your Captain, mighty to save. Dare to be brave, dare to be true; God is your Father: He watches o’er you; He knows your trials; when your heart quails, Ask Him to help you; His grace never fails. Psalms 33:22

• [Psa 33:22] Lord, Thy Mercy Now Entreating

  Lord, Thy mercy now entreating, Low before Thy throne we fall; Our misdeeds to Thee confessing, On Thy Name we humbly call. Sinful thought and words unloving, Rise against us one by one; Acts unworthy, deeds unthinking, Good that we have left undone. Hearts that far from Thee were straying, While in prayer we bowed the knee; Lips that, while Thy praises sounding, Lifted not the soul to Thee. Precious moments idly wasted, Precious hours in folly spent; Christian vow and fight unheeded; Scarce a thought to wisdom lent. Lord, Thy mercy still entreating, We with shame our sin would own; From henceforth, the time redeeming, May we live to Thee alone.

  We hope in Thee, O God! The day wears on to night; Thick shadows lie across our world, In Thee alone is light. We hope in Thee, O God! The fading time is here, But Thou abidest strong and true Though all things disappear. We hope in Thee, O God! Our joys go one by one, But lonely hearts can rest in Thee, When all beside is gone. We hope in Thee, O God! Hope fails us otherwhere; But since Thou art in all that is, Peace takes the hand of care. We hope in Thee, O God! In Whom none hope in vain; We cling to Thee in love and trust, And joy succeeds to pain.

• [Psa 62:5] Wait, O My Soul, Thy Maker’s Will

  Wait, O my soul, thy Maker’s will; Tumultuous passions, all be still! Nor let a murmuring thought arise; His ways are just, His counsels wise. He in the thickest darkness dwells, Performs His work, the cause conceals; But, though His methods are unknown, Judgment and truth support His throne. In heaven, and earth, and air, and seas He executes His firm decrees; And by His saints it stands confessed, That what He does is ever best. Wait, then, my soul, submissive wait; Prostrate before His awful seat; And, ’midst the terrors of His rod, Trust in a wise and gracious God.
