and takes note of all their actions.

Psalms 36:7

Context

36:7 How precious 5  is your loyal love, O God!

The human race finds shelter under your wings. 6

Psalms 146:3

Context

146:3 Do not trust in princes,

or in human beings, who cannot deliver! 7

1 tn Heb “fruit.” The next line makes it clear that offspring is in view.

2 tn Heb “seed.”

3 tn Heb “sons of man.”

4 tn Heb “the one who forms together their heart[s].” “Heart” here refers to human nature, composed of intellect, emotions and will. The precise force of יָחַד (yakhad, “together”) is unclear here. The point seems to be that the Lord is the creator of every human being.

5 tn Or “valuable.”

6 tn Heb “and the sons of man in the shadow of your wings find shelter.” The preservation of physical life is in view, as the next verse makes clear.

7 tn Heb “in a son of man, to whom there is no deliverance.”
